LAMBRETTA WERKZEUG FÜR DIE LI FAMILIE

Werkzeug erfreut nicht nur das Schrauberherz, mit dem richtigen Werkzeug geht einem die Arbeit auch leichter von der Hand.

Entgegen der üblichen Mär, dass man für die Lambretta tonnenweise Spezialwerkzeug brauche, sind nur wenige Werkzeuge wirklich unabdinglich.

Ungewöhnliches Maß und für die Klemmnippel an Schaltung und Kupplung verwendet. Der bgm Schlüssel kommt direkt mit praktischem Kugelkopf daher. Damit ist der hintere Schaltzug auch bei eingehängtem Kupplungszug und ohne speziellen Stellblock erreichbar.

Polradabzieher und passende Halter sind der einzige Weg, das Polrad vom Konus der Kurbelwelle abzuziehen. Das ist für alle Arbeiten an der Zündanlage erforderlich. Aber auch wenn man tiefer in die Innereien des Motors vordringen möchte oder muss.

Der Polradhalter 2+3 Fenster ist für alle originalen Innocenti und die indischen Polräder mit entsprechenden Aussparungen vorgesehen.

Das bgm PRO Polrad hat einen Außensechskant, auf dem der entsprechende Halter befestigt wird. Zum Gegenhalten stützt sich der Halter an der Mutter der großen Silentblöcke ab.

Bei der Casatronic Zündung gibt es zwei Varianten, eine basierend auf der IDM Zündung und die aktuelle Variante gefertigt von Ducati Energia. Die Polräder werden über zwei, bzw. drei Pins auf dem Polrad mit dem entsprechenden Halter blockiert.

Auch die beiden sind unersetzlich. Der Kompressor wird zum Entlasten des Sicherungsrings auf der Lambretta Kupplung verwendet. Nach Entfernen des Rings kann die Kupplung entnommen werden.
Die Kupplungsmutter wird mit 66 – 74 Nm angezogen. Sowohl zum Lösen als auch zum Anziehen der Mutter sollte der Kupplungskorb mit dem entsprechenden Werkzeug/Halter blockiert werden.

Mitte 1960 wird das Design der Bremstrommel geändert. Die Serie 2 bekommt zu diesem Zeitpunkt drei M7 Gewinde statt der vorher verwendeten zwei M6 Gewinden. Damit einher geht die Verwendung des Sicherungsrings für die Hutmutter auf der Hauptwelle/Bremstrommel. Unsere Abzieher kommen sowohl mit den M6 als auch mit den M7 Schrauben, um den  Abzieher in Position zu bringen. Ist er auf der Bremstrommel befestigt, wird über die große zentrale Schraube die Bremstrommel von der Hauptwelle gedrückt.

Die OEM Qualität des Abziehers funktioniert zwar, ist aber haptisch nicht der Bringer.

Casa Lambretta bietet das Werkzeug in einer schönen Werkstattqualität und es entspricht dem originalen Innocenti Werkzeug.

MBD hat das originale Design optimiert und erfreut mit einer Rändelung am Außenrand sowie einer Kugel in der Spitze der zentralen Schraube. Die passt in die Aussparung auf der Hauptwelle und soll etwaige Beschädigung verhindern.

Der MBD Schlüssel für das Steuersatzlager ist perfekt auf die Lambretta angepasst. Der Halter zum Kontern ist entsprechend den Bedingungen der Lambretta abgesetzt.

Für die Revision der Gabel wird der Kompressor für die in der Gabel liegenden Federn verwendet. Ohne die Federn zu komprimieren, können weder die Forklinks noch die Federn und deren Federführungsstangen aus der Gabel entfernt werden. 

Sowohl der Casa Lambretta als auch der MB Kompressor orientieren sich an dem originalen Design des Werkzeuges. Das ist manchmal in der Handhabung etwas schwierig und eine dritte oder gar vierte helfende Hand sind meist nicht schlecht.

Das OEM Design hingegen wird an der Gabel verschraubt und die Handhabung ist kinderleicht und zeiteffizient. Also hier: Klare Kaufempfehlung für OEM.

Die Silentblöcke lassen sich nur mit dem entsprechenden Werkzeug und mit ausreichend erhitztem Motorgehäuse wechseln. Das bgm Werkzeug hierfür ist eine massive aus dem Vollen gedrehte Konstruktion.

Am besten wird die Kurbelwelle in das antriebsseitige Lager eingezogen. Hierzu kann die originale Antriebshülse mit der Schraube für das vordere Ritzel verwendet werden.

Die Einziehhülse ist eine in der Länge optimierte Version der originalen Antriebshülse und bietet einen Komfort und Geschwindigkeitsvorteil beim Schrauben. Bei beiden Versionen muss die Kurbelwelle (bspw. mit einem Pleuel Blockierwerkzeug fixiert werden.

Die Casa Performance Version ist eine ziemlich geniale Weiterentwicklung, bei der das Blockieren der Kurbelwelle entfällt und die Welle besonders schonen in den Lagersitz gezogen.

Zur Demontage der Kurbelwelle ist das Werkzeug vom MB nach wie vor erste Wahl. Es wird auf dem Motorgehäuse verschraubt und dann kann die Welle einfach aus dem Lagersitz gedrückt werden

Das MB Werkzeug ist immer noch die erste Wahl für die Demontage der Kurbelwelle. Es wird auf das Motorgehäuse geschraubt und dann kann die Kurbel einfach aus dem Lagersitz gedrückt werden.

Exakte Kopie des originalen Innocenti Werkzeugs. Damit können fest sitzende Antriebshülsen sanft von der Kurbelwelle gedrückt werden. Die Antriebshülse hat am äußeren Ende zwei Löcher zur Verwendung des Werkzeugs. Mit den beiden seitlichen Rändelschrauben werden Hülse und Werkzeug miteinander verbunden und dann wird die Hülse mittels des Knebels vom Kurbelwellenstumpf gedrückt.

Hauptwellen Montagewerkzeug

Vor dem Einbau des Getriebespiels ist es wichtig, dass die Vorgelegewelle mit dem richtigen Drehmoment ganz in das hintere Nabenlager gezogen wird. Dies kann bei fixierter hinterer Bremsnabe erfolgen. Eine Alternative dazu ist das Endantriebshülsenwerkzeug von Mark Broadhurst. Sobald die Vorgelegewelle montiert ist, setzen Sie die Hülse ein, indem Sie die Inbusschraube in den Nuten der Vorgelegewelle fixieren, die mitgelieferte Spezialmutter anbringen, die Hülse mit einem Schraubenschlüssel festhalten und die Mutter anziehen, bis die Vorgelegewelle mit dem richtigen Drehmoment in ihre Position gezogen ist.

Bestimmung des oberen Totpunkts und des Zündzeitpunkts

Präzisionsmesswerkzeug zur Bestimmung des oberen Totpunkts und des Zündzeitpunkts sind die Messuhren und Halterungen, die anstelle des Zylinderkopfs montiert werden. Eine gute Wahl, wenn Sie ohnehin einen Motor auf der Werkbank oder dem Motorständer haben. Wenn Sie die Zündzeitpunktbestimmung bei eingebautem Motor durchführen müssen, ist es vielleicht einfacher mit dem Buzzwangle, Beluga oder ähnlichen Methoden.

BUZZWANGLE vom Sticky

Das Buzzwangle Werkzeug ist eine geniale Idee vom Sticky. Über einen Adapter mit vier Aufnahmen kann eine digitale Gradscheibe auf den Gewinden für den Polradabzieher geklemmt werden. Somit ist die digitale Winkelmessuhr unverrückbar befestigt und sowohl der Zündzeitpunkt als auch die Steuerzeiten können auf 0,1° genau ermittelt und eingestellt werden.

Passt für alle Lambretta Innocenti Modelle und deren Derivate. So wie auf die meisten Vespa und Piaggio Modelle.

Der originale Zündkerzenschlüssel passt natürlich, hat aber den Nachteil, dass die Demontage einer heißen Zündkerze mit verbrannten Fingern enden kann. Mit dem bgm Teil kann die Kerze nach dem Lösen ganz einfach von Hand komplett raus geschraubt werden. Und nicht nur das, ein integrierter Magnet hält die Kerze sicher im Schlüssel. Garantiert gibt es hier keine verbrannten Finger.

Montageständer bgm PRO

Lambretta Serie 1-3

Ersetzt den Motor für Montagearbeiten. Der Montageständer wird über die Stoßdämpferbefestigung am Rahmen und den Motorbolzen verschraubt. Der Roller kann dann, als wenn der Motor drin wäre rangiert werden. Eignet sich sowohl um den Roller mobil und aufrecht zu halten, während der Motor auf den OP Tisch kommt oder um die Lambretta nach Aufbereitung oder Lackierung aufzubauen, wenn der Motor noch nicht fertig ist.

Montagewerkzeug Schaltklaue bgm PRO ‚Kugelquetsche‘

Die Kugelquetsche ist ein clever konstruiertes Werkzeug. Mit ihm lassen sich die Schaltkugeln samt Feder sehr einfach und bequem in die Hauptwelle einbauen. Ohne dieses Werkzeug kann die Montage der Schaltklaue ein echtes Geduldsspiel sein. Gleichzeitig die Kugeln auf beiden Seiten in Position und ausreichend Vorspannung bringen, ohne dass sie von der Schaltfeder in die unendlichen Weiten der Werkstatt geschossen werden?

Stehbolzen Montagewerkzeug

Cleveres Tool von BGM zum beschädigungsfrei einbauen von Stehbolzen.
Das BGM Pro Werkzeug auf den Stehbolzen schrauben und mit der integrierten Innensechskantschraube kontern. Dabei verspannt es sich mit dem Gewinde des Stehbolzen. Nun an der äußeren Schlüsselfläche drehen. Der Stehbolzen ist fixiert und wird gelöst oder eingeschraubt. Dabei auf eine ausreichend feste Konterung achten, damit sich das Werkzeug nicht löst.

Ideal für kurze Bolzen (wie z.B. bei Lambretta Getriebedeckeln).
Die erforderliche Mindestlänge an greifbarem Stehbolzengewinde ist:

  • M6 / /M7 = 6,5mm
  • M8 = 9mm

Verfügbar einzeln oder als Set.
Auch erhältlich für die seltene Gewindegröße M7!

Erforderliches Zusatzwerkzeug:

  • Maul/Ringschlüssel: SW19
  • Innensechskantschlüssel: 6mm

HINWEIS: Bitte beachten das mit Schraubenkleber/Loctite eingeklebte Stehbolzen häufig über ein sehr hohes Losbrechmoment verfügen. Hier sollte vorab versucht werden den/die Stehbolzen bzw. das Gehäuse Drumherum zu erhitzen um die Klebeverbindung zu lösen.

Sebastian Alvarez aus Argentinien, er kam extra für die EuroLambretta 2022 in Belgien und die Euro Vespa Days in Portugal, und jetzt, wo er in der Nähe war, beschloss er, sich mit Ersatzteilen für seine Geschäfte zu versorgen, mehr über die Einrichtungen des Scooter Centers zu erfahren und uns zu besuchen.

Und natürlich musste ich dabei sein, um ihm in seiner Muttersprache alles über das Scooter Center und Köln zu erklären!!!

Geschichte von Vespa und Lambretta in Argentinien

aber wir haben auch die Gelegenheit genutzt, ein wenig mehr über die unglaubliche Geschichte von Vespa, Lambretta und der ganz besonderen: Siambretta in Argentinien, denn es ist eines der südamerikanischen Länder mit der längsten Vespa- und Vespa-Club-Geschichte, und wie könnte es anders sein, wenn die Vespa von einer Legende vertreten wird: Juan Manuel FANGIO, der argentinische Rennfahrer, der von Fachleuten als einer der herausragendsten Profifahrer des Weltmotorsports aller Zeiten angesehen wird, der fünf Weltmeistertitel in der Formel 1 gewonnen hat.

Mit so viel Glück hatte Sebastian Zugang zu schönen Schätzen seiner Kunden, wie dieses Stück mit von Fangio unterzeichneten Originalpapieren:

Der Ursprung der Siambretta in Argentinien beginnt in den 1950er Jahren, mit der Firma SIAM, die alle Teile importierte, aber dann mit dem Bau unter dem Namen: SIAM-Lambretta begann, der Wunsch nahm dann den Namen: Siambretta, der Erfolg war so, dass es die Produktion ganz national begann.

Das Kuriose an der Siambretta ist, dass die bekanntesten Modelle in Argentinien genau die ältesten Lambretta-Modelle waren, während in Italien die 200er, 175er, 150er usw. die „gängigsten“ Lambrettas sind, während in Argentinien die 125er sehr erfolgreich waren. In Argentinien gibt es Kreise von „siambreteros“, die Motorräder besitzen, die aufgrund ihres Originalitätsgrades bewundernswert sind.

Breaking News – SIL Lambretta factory close to be demolished

The end of an era is very close to come. There had been rumours in 2019 about the closure of the Scooters India Limited in 2019, in January 2021 it was official that the Indian cabinet made the decision for closing SIL indeed.

What was Scooters India Limited?

The SIL company took over the rights and tools for manufacturing the Lambretta from Innocenti in 1971. Until the plant was set up and running it took a while. But from 1975 onwards they produced and marketed the two-wheelers Vijai Deluxe (DL) and later the Vijai Super for the domestic market and the Lambretta GP for the export markets. Beside the two-wheeler production they also produced the three-wheelers, mainly for the domestic market though. The two-wheeler production was stopped in 1997 and the focus from then on was for the three-wheelers and Lambretta spares for the export market.

The SIL scooters were popular during the 90’s and Scooter Center as well imported quite a few containers full of brand new SIL Lambretta GP 200 back then.

Now it seems that the factory is going to be demolished very soon. Our friend Abhi was so kind to send us some pictures he has taken recently in the SIL plant. Who knows, maybe the last ones.

  • Incorporated in 1972 as Scooters India Limited.
  • Company’s plant owes its origin to Innocenti of Italy from which it bought over the plant and machinery, design, documentation, copyright and so on. The company is also said to possess the world right of the trade name LAMBRETTA / LAMBRO.
  • In 1975, company started its commercial production of Scooters under the brand name of Vijai DL (later Vijai Super) for domestic market and Lambretta for oversea markets.
  • Located at 16 Km mile stone, South-west of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh on No 25 and well connected by road, rail and air.
  • Key player on supplying Lambretta enthusiasts around the world until the end of the 90s.

On my left and right side at the office, I have passionate Lambretta aficionados. Therefore, it probably was only a matter of time before I ride with one of them. In this case with her, but she is not just any girl, she is Yoleila (at Facebook) or Julia.

She is the president of the Lambretta Club Germany, scooter racer, almost a collector, crazy for the original scooters and parts, graphic designer and I could keep going…

That is, why, we interview her, to listen to those stories that we love to hear.

We have chosen a very high buty content for the new bgm PRO inner tubes in favour of better quality and higher safety and therefore a separate tube size for tyres up to 3.00-10 and 90/90-10 = Vespa & Lambretta Smallframe. Other inner tubes with a lower butyl content have more flexibility due to a higher rubber content. They serve a wider range of possible tyre sizes (up to 130/90-10), but as a major disadvantage, poorer air-tightness and puncture resistance must be accepted.

It is January 2021 and we are still missing the lifestyle associated with our chosen way of life. No Runs, no Nighters, no Racing and sometimes it feels like no nothing than Covid. So, the other day we were discussing in the Skype lunchtime meeting the subject of our business travels.

We did a lot and most ended up being sweaty and covered in dust and grease or over tired on some motorways with a hangover on our way back.

One of the ultimate highlights of all Scooter Center travels has been the one to Bangkok in 2018. We had the plan to visit the dealers over there and get a better feeling for the scene in Thailand. We are in general very far from being hypercritical and see the positive things rather than negative things. A lot of the complaining in the western hemisphere is not very objective and the usual prejudice when it comes to Asia is –let us face it- copycats.

 

Buddy Seat Lambretta Garage

We were really looking forward to see what would be waiting for us. Our first stop after we landed was visiting Buddy seat Lambretta Garage. A fantastic place with frame and fork jigs and an unbelievable level of artisanship. Starry-eyed as we are, we simply tried to find the place ourselves. The try was without any success and we had to ask a Taxi driver to call the shop to find it. As things were not easy, the shop owner itself came to guide us. And hey presto, we are in town less than two hours and are escorted by a Lambretta TV 200 to the shop. Not a too bad start for the seven-day business trip. The language barrier was sadly there, but the gestures between some Lambretta nuts worked well and we made the conversation this way.

Our second stop was the Lambretta Thailand Café that hosts as well the Lambretta Thailand Shop of our good friend Toon, he speaks perfect English and took care of us for the rest of our stay in BKK. He really made the business trip to the perfect holiday at least for Philipp. Maybe even Ulf.

A place with a few small Lambretta shops, lots of Vintage car shops, vintage stuff and clothing. Cafes, Bars, amongst others an old American fuel station (demounted in the States, brought over and re-assembled) and loads of other bits to see, eat and drink.

Lambretta exhausts onthe dyno

Before we have send the final sample to Spain, we put the new box through its paces. Additionally we have another prototype box from our friend Chalky from Replay Scooters and JPP on the dyno:

  • bgm PRO BigBox Proto
  • JPP Box Proto

The following expansion chambers competed against the boxes:

  • the TSR Evo,
  • the JL3 and
  • in MB3

Results & conclusion of the test

Nice and clear to see how well the box scores right from the start not only with power but also with plenty of torque compared to the ‚racing exhausts‘.

 

That’s what makes the bgm PRO boxes so nice to drive. There is always enough power available without having to struggle with gear connection problems or having to twist the throttle like crazy to get things moving. The moderate consumption values of the engine concepts with the bgm boxes are another advantage, apart from the original appearance and pleasant sound level. Another outstanding feature is the registered-design of the mounting system with adjustment options in both horizontal and vertical directions. This allows tolerances and, above all, spacers used for different strokes and connecting rod lengths to be compensated for.

Lambretta Lui dyno days – on the test bench

The boss has come up with something: Lambretta Lui dyno days!

From the very beginning – since 1992 – the Lambretta has been a permanent fixture at our Scooter Center. Much has changed in almost three decades. While in the 90s it was mainly the GP and, if necessary, other Series 3 models, the complete range from Series 1 and 2, the cardan models and the Lambretta ‚Smallframes’* has become more popular than ever.

Especially the small Lambrettas with 50 cc displacement were completely useless until the release of the 75 Casa Lambretta cylinder in early 2009 due to the extremely modest mileage.

Ulfs Lui Lambrettas on the test bench

We took the soft-lockdown as an opportunity to put a part of Ulf’s Lui collection through its paces. We were especially interested in how the 75 cc Casa cylinder performs against the original Innocenti 75 cc cylinder. And were even surprised how well the 75 cc aluminium cylinder with Nikasil coating performed.

 

In the performance diagram you can see in the blue corner a completely original lui 50 C. The power curve with 2,1 HP „peak“ power you have to look for at the height of the torque curve of the two 75s. The green curve with 4,5 HP at about 5.500 rpm has delivered an original Vega with SH20 carburettor. The red curve is a 75cc Casa engine. The cylinder was fired with the 15 SHA carburettor kit (main jet 68). A special feature of the engine is the exhaust of the 75cc models, which is unfortunately not available new and very sought after.

How to get the Lambretta gear changing work perfect and smooth?

We take a close look at the controls and what can be done down from the headset thru the cables to the gear swivel and gear selector arm on the engine casings.

Let’s face it the last Lambrettas have left the Innocenti factory half a century ago. And not everyone has been maintained and serviced regular and as it should be done. One of the many beauties on the Lambrettas is that they are very simple to work on, especially with the right tools, right parts and the right hints (Sticky). There are three areas to look at:

  • Handlebar / headset
  • Cables
  • Engine casing

 

Lambretta handlebar / headset

Thru the Li family there had been different changes on the internals of the headset. On well- maintained bikes most of the time taking everything apart, cleaning and put it properly greased and lubricated can do the job. When you are up the job, it won’t do no harm to renew all the bushings in the headset. These are the guides for the gear and throttle rods. Available as handy sets from Casa Lambretta:

Once everything is properly rebuild and any slack is taken out –especially of the gear change housing and the gearchange rod- you are done with the headset and can have a look at the cables.

 

Lambretta cables and routing

Essential are Teflon / PTFE lined cables. These run super smooth and are maintenance free. The bgm cable sets are especially made for the Li family Lambretta and have some unique features. It’s time to fit the inner cables. On the brake and clutch levers use a good blob of grease to keep everything well lubricated. Especially the lever screw, the trunnion of the inner cable and all operating and moving parts.

Topp Tipp: If the bolts of the clutch and brake lever are not properly greased they can wear off the holes in the light switch housing and gear change housing. These can easily been repaired with the oversize bolt:

The most important thing is to avoid any unwanted slop in the gear swivel, tie rodgear change and the the selector arm. Luckily there are many different choices for everyone’s tasting available.

Something we went not original is the allen key for adjusting these. The bgm one comes with a ball end. This makes adjusting the gear change trunnions a cakewalk as you come across the clutch cable easily:

The first sample of the ignition base plates was presented on our stand at the Eurolambretta ’07 in Neckarsulm. The base plate of our ignitions is based on the electronic ignition, which was introduced in 1970 with the Lambretta dl 200 electronic. Later this Innocenti ignition base plate was „adapted“ by Piaggio for the Vespa. This type of ignition is probably the most widespread model.

In direct comparison, the bgm PRO ignition base plate gives an extremely stable ignition spark and maximum light output due to the optimized number of turns and wiring.

The LUI was intended to anticipate the design of the 21st century. Compared to all other scooters built before, the design is significantly reduced and streamlined. The implementation of this idea was in the hands of the Bertone Design Studio. Bertone created a truly avant-garde design with the LUI and Verga series. Even today, LUI and Vega seem as fresh as they did in the spring of 1968, when the slogan „All for Lui, and Lui for all“ was advertised. Only the performance of the LUI with a 50 cc engine is 38 km/h below the expectations.

At the latest since completely new possibilities in the tuning sky through the Casa Performance parts, the small Lambretta models J, Lui, Vega and Cometa are enjoying great popularity.

For us scooter riders, besides performance, the appearance of our scooters has always been important. Benches are an important stylistic element here, with the right seat we can support and emphasize the shape of our beloved scooters. They should also be as comfortable as possible. We have now designed a new bench for the Lambretta Smallframe models.

The design of this bgm seat for the Lambretta Lui is perfectly done by our design team. The seat picks up the line of the tank as if no other seat had ever been designed for this scooter.

The contemporary and high-quality Alfatex cover on the sides of the bench completes the picture. The quality, robustness and refinement is at the usual high level of our benches, of course MADE in ITALY.

Our proven magnetic mechanism is also used to lock and unlock this bench. We are always amazed at how ingeniously simple the handling is and how beautifully the bench fits into the lock.

We have revised our crankshfts for Lambretta. We worked with the manufacturer for alsmost three years and we are very satisfied with the results. The testing lasted as long as the development work.

The new crankshafts for Lambretta are available with 58 mm and 60 mm stroke and 107 mm, 110 mm and 115 mm conrod:

Tested on the circuit

Darren Conneely of the Team Replay successfully tested the bgm PRO Competition crankshafts during the BSSO competition of the season 2018. Paul „Chalkie “ White of the Team Replay mounted on the Lambretta Group 4 the cylinder bgm RT 195 and the new crankshaft bgm PRO Competition. With a power of over 30 HP on the rear wheel and up to 11,000 rev/min that was a real endurance test.

And while we intensively tested these crankshafts on road, Darren, with our crankshaft, took the second place in the Group 4. Congratulations!

  • Reduced engine vibration thanks to fully balancing with hidden pockets, copper and tungsten balance weights
  • Lubrication of the lower conrod bearing via two large lubrication slots
  • Hub pin diameter 22 mm

 

15 years experience in crankshaft development

There is 15 years of experience with building our Lambretta cranks. The development of this new and massively improved type has taken another three years of development work and tests to realize a shaft that offers maximum anti-twisting stability.

Team Replay used a selection of bgm parts during the BSSO race Series in 2018. Replay’s rider Darren Conneely finished the season in Group 4 on a 2nd overall using the new crank.

Casa Lambretta, a long story… part two – Scooter & Lambretta museum

CASA LAMBRETTA – SCOOTER & LAMBRETTA MUSEUM

Above the head offices of Casa Lambretta we have the Museo Scooter & Lambretta. In a plain builiding Vittorio has managed to create a exhibition which is unique for the quality and quantitiy of the scooters on display.

Founded in 2001 in its original location with the support of the city of Rodano, the museum was included in the province museum system Milano Città del Progetto in 2004 and since 2010 it is hosted in its present location.

THE MODELS ON DISPLAY

Around 160 exhibits exemplary document the history of the scooter. The first models were built before the Second World War, whereas the latest exhibits date back to the 70s. Besides the Italian models, Vittorio has also collected scooters produced by manufacturers from England, Germany, Austria, Spain, USA, Russia, France, Japan, Belgium, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

In the first of the five exhibition halls there are about ten Vespas from the V98 models onwards. When moving to the other halls, we pass by three Belmondo scooters from the 40s, probably what inspired Piaggio to design the Paperino.

In the halls 2 and 3 the different scooters are grouped according to year and country of manufacture. The exhibition is just impressive: from perfect restorations, scooters found in a barn and in preserved state, to new vehicles in original condition, here you can just find everything. Among the rarest models we have the Honda Juno K (Hondas first scooter dating back to 1954, the Nibbio, built in Lombardy in 1947, the Bastert monotrace or also the Auto-Fauteuil (the first scooter model dating back to 1908).

THE LAMBRETTA COLLECTION

The heart of the collection is represented by the Lambretta models displayed in the further two halls. From 1947 to 1971 Innocenti built over four millions of Lambretta scooters in the nearby factory in Lambrate. If you also add the licenced production from India, Spain, Germany, France, Asia and South America, the Lambretta represents one of the most produced scooters worldwide.

Thanks to his decade long passion Vittorio could raise a unique collection of Lambretta scooters: from the first, widely known models A with chassis number 2, to the three wheel FB Lambretta with box casing dating back to 1949, two Lambrettas series 2 with genuine paint for the Olympic games which took place in Rome in 1960, the completely gold-plated TV 175 series 3 for the actress Jane Mansfield, to different Lambrettas painted in yellow and with a four-leaf clover, reserved for the Innocenti family.

The absolute highlight are the prototypes and one-off models which would have probably not survived if Vittorio had not rescued them in time.

HOW TO REACH US

Casa Lambretta is situated in Rodano, in the province of Milan. Not far away from the Linate airport and about 15 minutes from the Centro Studi and the former Innocenti factory in Lambrate.
The city centre of Milan is 11km from the museum and Casa Lambretta, therefore easy to reach by car. If you travel by taxi it costs about 30 Euro.

Seit vielen Jahren arbeiten wir sehr eng mit Vittorio Tessera von Casa Lambretta zusammen. Unsere Zusammenarbeit basiert auf einem freundschaftlichen Umgang und der Liebe zu den Fahrzeugen aus Mailand.

Casa Lambretta produziert Lambretta Teile für die Li Famile (Li, TV, LiS, GT, SX, dl und GP) die kleinen Lambrettas Junior und LUI sowie für die frühen Kardanmodelle.

Neben der Reproduktion von Teilen hat Vittorio Tessera eine beachtliche Sammlung an diversen Rollern, die er im Museo Scooter & Lambretta der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich macht. In der Regel nimmt er sich auch gerne die Zeit für eine persönliche Führung:

Farbe der Nähte am Sitzbankbezug der Lambretta

Eine gerne und kontrovers diskutierte Frage stellt die Farbe der Nähte an den Sitzbankbezügen dar. Müssten die Nähte weiß sein oder in Farbe der Sitzbank. Hierzu hat Vittorio uns ein paar originale Aufnahmen von Innocenti geschickt, an denen man schön die Farbe der Nähte erkennen kann. Schön auch in dem Foto mit den beiden Silver Specials zu sehen, dass beide Endkappen am Sitzbankriemen während der Produktion zum Einsatz kamen.
