Racer Vespa Wideframe

Vespa Alp Days 2020 Zell am See

Photos and Videos Vespa Alp Days 2020 Reloaded

One thing in advance: we are already looking forward to next year’s Vespa Alp Days 2021 in Zell am See(June 01-08, 2021) and are confident that we will be able to celebrate “normal” Alp Days with you again. Registration and information you will find soon here: https://www.the-alp-days.at/

Everything is different this year. Corona makes it possible. The date in June was cancelled, like many other events. Most of the scooter meetings fell victim to the epidemic. But then the Vespa Alp Days, under these difficult conditions, fortunately took place in the Alp Days Reloaded Edition.

We from the Scooter Center have been following this super Vespa meeting in Zell am See since the World Vespa Days 2009, when we were already the main sponsor and represented with a large stand and team. This huge international Vespa meeting was the birth of the following AlpDays event, which should take place for the 11th time this year. The Scooter Center is again the main sponsor and once again we were on site, albeit in this special situation with a mini team. What the two of us were able to experience in this short time was simply amazing: We started at 9:00 am in the morning with the Großglockner Bergpreis, I have never seen so many Vespa Rally 180 / 200 in one place before. Have a look here:

Videos Zell am See 2020

The result is 2 videos.
Tip: for the Großglockner exit Full Movie
you should take 30 minutes. It’s worth it! The course of the road in connection with the breathtaking mountain scenery at 2,500 meters above sea level make the scenery and the video simply epic.

I don’t know how Nicole and Franz always do it with the weather, but see for yourself!

Scootering together to Scooter Center’s open day

The Flatliners S.C. club is riding to our spare parts market and invites you to join the tour. Scootering together is more amusing. the club has chosen a nice tour including a ferry trip across the Rhine!

Since we’re planning to go to Scooter Center’s spare parts market on Saturday, we thought, well, just join us, we’ll pick you up! The tour starts in Wipperfürth, continues across the Bergisches Land region and ends in Bergheim-Glessen. Below you can find a list of the intermediate stops. Besides, we’ll run a google-based online tool to track the tour live. (Here you find the link) I think, most of scooter riders already know how our tours are organised. Run & Race 2016, Pomposa, Italy – 16-18/09/2016

Last month Scooter Center rode to Pomposa, on the Adriatic coast, for the Run & Race finals of the European Scooter Challenge. Thanks to the attendance of the British Scooter Sport Organisation (BSSO) and of further international racers, spectators could enjoy wonderful performances on the circuit.

With Lambretta to the Adriatic riviera

It feels like a holiday. We still have a long way to go, about 3.000 km, and many things to do in Bella Italia. Our bus was packed with our equipment and with our best bgm parts for the Run & Race Italy. We started our journey in Cologne and after 1.000 km, from the Lake Garda, we travelled the last 250 km to Pomposa by scooter: two RaceTour Lambretta scooters with the

28mm Polini Carburettor and the bgm Big Box:

  1. Lambretta DL 150 with 225 bgm PRO RaceTour
  2. Lambretta LI 150 1st series 195 bgm PRO RaceTour

Lambretta DL & LI

Hard test drive in the rain and pathole slalom

Test drive in Bella Italia: summertime, blue sky, now and then a short stop in Autogrill. That’s the plan! But just half an hour later, after the motorway tunnel in Verona…a pouring rain! Luckily there’s no bad weather, just wrong clothes: and we have everything with us, but that’s not enough and it still keeps on raining untill Pomposa. Several cars against crash barrier and crackings in asphalt paving show us what happened before.

Fahrt im Regen mit dem RollerDespite the bad weather and patholes we can still ride very fast, about 110 km/h (GPS). the new TomTom VIO shows us the way and thanks to the great performance of our scooters we can enjoy the ride.

Our scooter tour: the video

Great Run & Race in Italy

Just before arriving in Pomposa it finally stops raining and the sunshine starts to break through the cloud cover. Marco from Rimini Lambretta Centre and the organisers of SIR welcome us and after drinking some white wine we go to our nice bungalow.

Unser Luxus-BungalowThere’s a lot going on on both evenings. On Saturday morning a delicious breakfast by the seaside, with sunshine and blue see…amazing… but we don’t have enough time sice we have to set up our stand and we’re curious to see what awaits us.

run-race-italy-2016_-18

Setting up our stand was very easy, well, at least for those who went to bed sober before five o’clock in the morning. We present the wide range of our items. On this occasion we also have the chance to meet our old friends from Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Great Britain and Cyprus.

Some pictures of our weekend

RACE – The races

Just on the opposite side we can see the exciting races taking place: racers competing up to the last meter. The Italian teams CASA Performance and Parmakit dominate the race. Our Austrian friend wins the race of the standardised class with a Polini engine. We hang a camera around Michi neck (Stoffi-team) – here a video of a training in the standardised class:

RUN – The scooter meeting

Run & Race – not only race, also scooter meeting. On the site of the racetrack we find many Italian stands selling every kind of merchandise and items, there are also lots of scooters to admire and we have many interesting discussions about scootering. All participants meet at the camping and bungalow park where they stay overnight. The concert on Saturday was cancelled, but we keep on having party until the morning hours. After the delicious breakfast on Sunday morning it’s hard for us to leave. Still 250 km return journey await us, but this time in beautiful sunshine. We leave the motorway and we ride the last stretch across mountins and hinterland until we reach our Basecamp at the Lake Garda. Here we still have quite a lot to do scuh as visiting the piston manufacturer Meteor in Milan, making fotos and videos.

Le BruttePieghe S.C. – 13° edizione EuroZero

We participated in the 13° edizione EuroZero Scooterrun of the Le BruttePieghe S.C. in Italy. The meeting was held in Arco, close to Lake Garda. Lago di Garda is, as you know, of special importance to us:

It was at Lake Garda where more than 25 years ago the story of Scooter Center has begun. Malcesine, located in the midst of lovely olive groves at the eastern shores of Lake Garda, is where Oliver Kluger bought Scooter Center’s very first scooter (a Vespa Rally TS 125), which was then sold to “Mod-Volker” from Cologne. Volker is still driving this excellent Vespa, he was our very first customer and is still loyal to us.

Video about the meeting of Le BruttePieghe S.C.

Even in Italy sun doesn’t always shine. So we saw quite a bit of rain that weekend (just like anywhere else). Luckily rain stopped for a while in the afternoon, so that the corso could take place. We personally cannot imagine a more beautiful setting for a ride out with scooters. Goose bumps. The following niter with scooterists sound was crowded with partying until the early hours.

If you ever got the chance, you really should participate in a scooter meeting in Italy. The SIR is the umbrella organisation. You will find scheduled meetings here: SIR - Scooterclub Italiani Riuniti<

Classic Day 2016

Our Scooter Center Classic Day 2016 for our Vespa and Lambretta friends was held on 11th June.

Weather was in tune with our event, attracting several hundred visitors again, who found their way to Scooter Center in Bergheim Glessen. Before we had naturally polished and tidied store, warehouse and offices, to impress you. I hope some have realized :-).

It was an honour and yet another great day with you:
Many nice people, many bargains, a lot of metal and a tasty snack, cool drinks and a lot of pressure on the dynamometer.
Thanks go to René for a really fitting music.

Awesome that so many of you have made it – that’s how we had fun – we are already looking forward to the next ClassicDay!
Thank you on behalf of the entire Scooter Center team

Go Vespisti, Go !

Tutto buono, Servus, Ciao !

Approximated 5.000 Vespisti have partied like it have -probably- never been done before there. More than 2.000 scooterists have taken part in the ride out to the Großglockner (at 3.780 meters height). A rehersal for the wild night that had to come!

The main street was firmly occupied by the Vespisti crowd. Really twisting the melons of the car drivers with the Vespa having right of way everywhere and everytime.
The local bars decided to spin the local mix of Apres Ski Music with the things like DJ Ötzi, Wolfgang Petri and like minded stuff.

To give it a proper Run atmosphere Enzo decided to do some burn outs and bounced some rear tyres with Oliver immaculate Rally 200. The local cops looked surprised and thanks to the superiority of the Vespisti nothing else happened. So no arresting in Austria. Like times have changed…

Buona Notte – Tanta Lotte !
