Vespa World Days 2017 in Celle, Germany, was once again a great and succesful event! Vespa lovers from all over the world met in Celle and we were also there with our Scooter Center stand. The Vespa Club Celle contributed to the brilliant organisation of the VWD. Here you’ll find a report, lots of pictures and the video of the Vespa World Days 2017.
Scooter Center was the main sponsor of the VWD17, but we still offer our support even after the event. Due to the bad weather conditions on the last day, the Vespa Club Celle could not sell many of the Vespa merchandise items and we now help them selling these high-quality souvenirs of the legendary Vespa World Days in Celle.

“Die Vespa World Days, das größte Vespa-Treffen der Welt, fand vom 22. bis 25. Juni 2017 in Celle statt. Organisiert wurde die Veranstaltung vom örtlichen Vespaclub. Es ist eine Mammutaufgabe und zugleich ein großer Traum. Für ein Wochenende werden die Vespa-Freunde zu Eventmanagern und Celle zum Zentrum der Vespa-Welt.
Ingo Weise, der Präsident des Celler Vespaclubs, träumt schon seit 19 Jahren davon, die Vespa World Days nach Celle zu holen und hat seine Vespa-Freunde damit angesteckt. Ein Jahr lang haben sie gemeinsam überlegt, geplant, organisiert und die CD Kaserne in ein Veranstaltungsgelände verwandelt.
Doch die Arbeit endet nicht mit der Eröffnung der Vespa World Days. Dann geht es erst richtig los. 4.000 Vespas sind angemeldet, 3.000 weitere werden erwartet. Das heißt 7.000 Vespas, 7.000 Fragen, 7.000 potenzielle Falschparker. Die Stadt tickt ein Wochenende lang im Zweitakt.
Die Vespa ist so etwas wie eine Legende unter den Motorrollern. Durch den Hollywoodklassiker “Ein Herz und eine Krone” erlangte sie Berühmtheit auf der ganzen Welt. Als das millionste Gefährt vom Band lief, wurde diese Vespa sogar von Papst Pius XII. auf dem Petersplatz in Rom gesegnet.
Nun kommen die Vespa-Fans aus aller Welt mit ihren Vespas nach Niedersachsen. Es sind Modelle darunter mit 50 Hupen, getunten Motoren, aber auch noch in der Originallackierung. Die ganze Vespa-Vielfalt bildet sich auf dem Veranstaltungsgelände ab.
“Die nordreportage” zeigt Ingo Weise und seine Freunde, wie sie bei der Planung des Megaevents auf Schlaf und Freizeit verzichten und alles geben. Auch wenn sie selber begeisterte Vespisti sind, liegt ihr Augenmerk nicht nur auf den zweirädrigen Schönheiten, sondern auf dem Gelingen einer Großveranstaltung.”

Vespa World Days is an event organised by Piaggio which takes place yearly in a different country. The country or the local club submits to the Vespa World Club an application for the organisation of the event. For 2017 the Vespa Club Celle was nominated as organiser of the event.
The Vespa World Club is composed, for one half, of Piaggio employees, while the other half is represented by the appointed members of the national clubs.
The Vespa World Club appointed the German Vespa Club for the organisation of the VWD 2017 and this, in turn, appointed the Vespa Club Celle.
Vespa World Days: the great international rally
Would you like to join the greatest Vespa rally? You can participate as registered visitor and get lots of services or join with free entrance as daily visitor. Daily visitors are also welcome and can visit the entire event area with many spare part booths and exhibitions. You can even join the whirl of Vespas. The events in the evening, for example, are for registered visitors only.
As you can see, the Vespa World Days are not just a rally. Piaggio establishes precise rules and these are stated the in the contract with the Vespa Club Celle. Here are two significant points:
Registration for the Vespa World Days is only possible using the online tool of the Vespa World Club.
Login data for the tool are given to each national club or local club organised in the respective national club.
This means that you cannot register for the Vespa World Days if you are not a member of an organised club. How to join the event? You have two possibilities: you can join an organised club or found a new club. So if you wish to participate, please contact your national club for further information.
Why register?
The Vespa Club Celle is contractually required to differentiate between registered and non-registered visitors.
All visitors have access to the Vespa Village.
All visitors can join the Vespa whirl.

Registration – Vespa World Days 2017, Celle (Germany)
This year the biggest annual Vespa event takes place in Germany: Vespa World Days in Celle. The first fickets were sold out within a short period of time. From 28th January you have a second chance to get your ticket for the Vespa World Days ’17 in Celle, Germany.
Light Entry tickets VWD 2017 – Price: € 65.
From 28th January 2017 you can get the sought-after VDW 2017 tickets in the so-called “Light Entry” version. Light Entry? Is there any difference between “Full Entry” and “Light Entry”? Yes, “Full Entry” and “Light Entry” tickets are identical, but the “Light Entry” does’t include the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening.
Tip: book a camping place now!
Of course you can already book a camping place:
Party campsite: “Camping West” without silence curfew, adult € 50,
Family-friendly campsite, for a quiet stay: “Camping Family” (silence curfew from 10:00 p.m.), adult € 55.
This a lump-sum price for the whole period from Wednesday until Monday, independently from the date of arrival/departure.
Can caravans and campers be parked on the campsite?
Unfortunately the VWD campsites have no caravan parks. You can park such vehicles at the car park of the “Schützenplatz” located in the street “Hafenstrasse”. The parking place is not bookable.

The official announcement was made 2 years ago: the Vespa World Days 2017 will be in Germany – more specifically in Celle.
But where is Celle and who are the Celle Scooterists?
Celle in Lower Saxony in the beautiful Lüneburg Heath
Celle is located in Lower Saxony, about 50km north of Hanover and has a population of ca. 70,000 people. The town lies on the banks of the river Aller and is the southern gateway to the Lüneburg Heath. The castle and the picturesque old town centre with over 400 timber-framed houses, make Celle one of the most remarkable towns on the German “timber-framed” road.
The Lüneburg heath stretches from Lüneburg in the north to Celle in the south. The Südheide nature park covers an area of about 500km². Woodlands and heathland, remnants from the middle ages, are now protected as a nature reserve. Well known in the region is the Heidschnucke, a moorland sheep, which lives from the local heather. The perfect destination for a group excursion!
Great starting point for further ride outs
Celle is the perfect base for various excursions, the local roads perfect for Vespa trips. Within a 100 km drive a variety of destinations can be reached.
