Vespa GTS 310

The Vespa GTS 310 differs from its predecessor, the Vespa GTS 300 HPE (which already had a keyless system), mainly due to the new 310 cc engine, which offers more power and torque with 25 hp and 28,9 Nm. The chassis has also been revised to provide a more stable and comfortable ride. Visually, there are new colors and variants, including the sporty SuperSport version with carbon-look details. Technologically, the keyless system is retained, but there are improvements in LED lighting, a revised ABS and ASR system, and more modern digital displays.

Vespa GTS 310

However, to go beyond the range of factory models in terms of customization, there are several brands whose range is adapted to this new model. Here we show you some:

Moto Nostra matching parts

Moto Nostra places a special emphasis on modern Vespas and we have reviewed some accessories that also serve the latest models.

Visual engine oil check through a sight glass instead of the dipstick.

Oil sight glass GANTHER black up to 180°C, fastened with lock nut and glued/sealed.
Includes seal and cover caps for the screw heads.

Black is beautiful!!

Footrests with adapters

Piaggio chose the position of the passenger footrests in their GT/GTS/GTV models somewhat unhappily.
The CNC milled Moto Nostra with aluminum adapter position the original footpegs where they belong. The ergonomics of the seat are greatly improved, and long tours are also a pleasure. The noble anodized surface protects the aluminum and offers a fine look.

the new Flyscreen for the #Gtskeyless by #MotoNostra has arrived at ##ScooterCenter. Do you like it?

New windshield

The Moto Nostra Flyscreen is the ideal touring screen with a sporty touch and official approval.

With its small surface, the windshield looks nice and sporty, but it is already very effective in directing the wind over the driver. This is noticeably relieved of the wind pressure at higher speeds. This is often noticeable through a higher top speed. Due to the smaller surface area, crosswind sensitivity is also significantly better than with taller windows.

New indicators sequentially fade in – fade out

The MOTO NOSTRA turn signals have individually controlled LEDs and thus create a fully dynamic running light, as is known from luxury class vehicles (e.g. Audi A7). The light effect created is very pleasing and offers a pleasant change from conventional indicators. As an additional special feature, the indicators at the front have a bright white daytime running light strip. The same technology is used as a position light at the rear.

Mirror set – super flat

Moto Nostra mirrors are super thin and allow for even more precise adjustment thanks to their adjustable corners.

License plate holder and license plate light

Moto Nostra launches an elegant way to place the license plate.

Long, short reach and short

The deliberately reduced design is complemented by fine chiseling on the edges of the levers. In addition to the individual custom look, which is very evident here, they also offer a very good grip.

bgm developments also points to modern Vespas, and here is an example of one 13″ GTS/GTV rim, which isn't out yet, but we've already received a sample and it looks great!

Canada Vespa Days 2024

Last 21-23 June  Canada Vespa Days were celebrated in Kingston, Ontario! This event was the first National Vespa event in Canadian History – or at least that anyone in attendance knew about! And Scooter Center was a proud sponsor!

Tickets were limited to 120 members of any official National Vespa Club. The event was sold out months ago! And almost 90 Vespas were proudly parked for everyone to see!

On behalf of the Vespa Club Canada (VCC), Jeff Schneider, President, and Julie welcomed all participants, who were happy to register, pick up their goodie bags and to check out the merchandise for sale.

Although this year's Vespa World Days could not be held there as planned, VC Canada proved that it could make it a truly international meeting. Participants arrived not only from coast to coast across Canada, coming from Comox and Vancouver, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, riders also came from the United States, Germany, Austria, Italy/Peru, and even the Philippines.

Jeff Schneider VC Canada

Participants were able to sign up for various rides, including a quick scoot around the town of Kingston, a ferry ride to see Wolfe Island by scooter, a ride along the St. Lawrence River to Brockville where riders were met by a local historian who explained the importance of Canada's first Railway Tunnel, as well as a scoot through the twists and turns of the countryside and a group lunch on one of the area's lakes. There were also group boat cruises through the waters connecting the 1000 Islands and a ride to a local brewery housed in a farm owned and operated by the same family for 8 generations. A gala dinner, complete with raffle prizes and a silent auction, concluded the first Canada Vespa Days event!

Scooter Center was invited, but this time we could only make our presence felt through some raffle prizes and silent auction items, as well as adding some items to the participant goodie bags. Until the next event…!

Mobile phone holder Vespa Classic

The innovative Vespa mobile phone holder is Made in Germany by Wulf & Berger and was specially developed for the metal leg shields of all Vespa classics.

Can be combined with any commercially available handlebar-mounted mobile phone holder.

SOLID
The W&B cell phone holder is made of solid aluminum plates. These are lasered and hand-welded in a German company. The very successful appearance is reminiscent of the thrust levers of old airplanes.

STEADFAST
The holder is fixed to the inside of the leg shield using 3x extra-strong neodymium magnets. The flexible suspension guarantees perfect adaptation to the slightly curved, convex leg shield shape.
With a load capacity of 12 kg each, the holder can cope with any driving situation, even uneven gravel roads are no problem.

GENTLE
The magnets are rubberized, the paint stays like new!

CLEVER
The mounting position inside the leg shield allows for particularly good readability of the display, as the leg shield shields the sun.
This means you always have a clear view of the display.

MOBIL
Thanks to the magnets, the holder can be realigned, removed or attached to another vehicle at any time.

VARIANTS
The holder is available in two versions:
Etched aluminum, ideal for vehicles with patina
Powder-coated in elegant black fine structure

Vespa scooter Wideframe

In the Vespa racing world, everything has its place and the best example of this is the Wideframe Racer of the Nagy family.

Moritz, Julius, Manuel and our dear Andreas from @NagySheet roller have joined forces and Wideframe Scooter built for the racetrack that meets your demands for design and performance.

So far there are not many Wideframes that are used in circuit or sprint races. These few racers are often equipped with engine concepts from the 80s, as these are considered by the builders to be more powerful and reliable. Andreas' team took a different approach and crossed the original engine block with modern components to show that 50s technology can also have a place in today's motorsport.

The result is the “Flying Snail“, a racing snail with a modern chassis and the latest engine technology, which has already completed its first laps on the racetrack with great promise.

33. Eurolambretta

From June 14 to 16, 2024, the national Lambretta clubs met near the Magny Cours racetrack for the annual EL.

Around 1.200 participants celebrated the best scooter in the world for four days. The Lambretta Club France put on a great event on a perfect site. The LCGB had by far the largest contingent, with around half of the participants. 60 participants traveled from the Lambretta Club Germany.

Thanks to the custom show, dynamometer, workshop, film screening, ride, chopper custom show, food trucks (from oysters to kebabs to India), DJs, live music and an excellent gala dinner on Saturday evening, there was not a single minute of boredom.

At the Eurolambretta Market we met many good friends:

  • Marco has the Rimini Lambretta Center and Casa Performance Products presents.
  • Sam from Lambretta finder not only offered used original parts for sale, but also put them to the test.
  • Lambretta Club Spain has made our mouths water with more goodies. Is there something new soon here comes
  • Lambretta Club Belgium
  • Lambretta Club Scotland with advertising for the 34th EL in Scotland
  • Lambretta Club Germany has promoted the Lambretta Offroad Cup massively and well. There is here at the place more information coming soon.
  • Jaime Supereibar has, after various parts and the standard reading on Eibar Lambretta, conjured up a film out of the hat. More on this soon.

Scooter Center / bgm status

We are always happy to support this legendary Lambretta meeting. A sure bet at every Eurolambretta was our friend Andy from Andy Francis Scooters. He often secured support with spare parts on his own. As this is no longer possible due to the restrictions imposed by Brexit, we decided at short notice to try it. So we booked around 150 kg of spare and wear parts and packed them pre-sorted into the delivery van and set off early on Friday morning. Enough to deliver the first spare parts on Friday as well as our new Lambretta bgm catalogue to distribute.

After a short night in the van, we head straight to the Lambretta spare parts service on Saturday morning. It was exhausting but also great to see so many old and new friends again. The only downside was that the time was far too short.

We would like to thank all participants and especially the Lambretta Club France for the great organization!

See you in Scotland 2025!

Ves'part des Anges

The last weekend (May 24/25.2024) took place the first event of the Vespa Club Cognac: Ves'part des Anges

They started off on the right foot by creating this beautiful graphic and choosing an amazing name, inspired by the small amount of the cognac that evaporates from the wood in the barrel, this loss of liquid is known as that “part des anges” (the angel's share).

They welcomed old scooters from France and Europe to discover the region, a tour through the vineyards, the heritage and the gastronomy of Cognac.

Véronique Chenu, President of the Vespa Club of Cognac tells us a little bit about it:

“Our event ended with an extraordinary weekend, our participants are delighted, walks, restaurants, tasting, concert, great, thank you Scooter Center for the participation, each #RealScooterist had their welcome bag filled with treats…”

Thank you for letting us participate and we wish you many more editions of Ves'part des Anges, cheers!

Now New!

There are only two original ignitions for the Lambretta lui and Junior series: one for all models with 50 cc displacement 4-pin ignition system from Dansi and for the models with more displacement (lui 75 and J100-125) one 6-pin Ducati ignition.

The power output of both ignitions is very manageable: the Dansi ignition is included 6V / 18 watts and the Ducati version at least with it 6 V / 33 W .

The 50s models have - in a negative sense - absolutely minimal electrics, which usually don't even have a brake light. An upgrade is impossible due to the non-existent performance of this Lambretta alternator.

Comparison of the power output of the ignition systems

Ignition Ducati 6-pin J 100, J 125                  6V / 33W

Ignition Ducati 6-pin lui 75                        6V / 33W

Ignition Dansi 4-pin J 50, lui 50                  6V / 18W

Ignition Vape lui 50-75, J 50-125           12 V / 110 W

vape 80 watts, near 2.000 U / min

vape 110 watts, near 6.000 U / min

This means that the new lui and Junior Vape ignition is a more than contemporary update 12V and 110 watts Perfomance. In addition, there is the unbeatable advantage of everyone electronic ignition: There are neither capacitors that burn out nor breakers that are subject to wear. Maintenance work and a weak ignition spark are a thing of the past.
Due to the very high ignition energy at low starting speeds, the vape ignition offers better starting behavior. The CDI is suitable for all original and tuned engines with a static ignition timing.

Thanks to the 12 magnets in the magnet wheel and the 9 coils on the ignition base plate, a high current output is available even at low speeds and the flickering of the light when idling is no longer present. The maximum output of the alternator is 110 watts.

This means that the models with 50 cc displacement can also be perfectly upgraded to the features of the larger models such as high and low beams and a brake light. Additional consumers (USB socket, exhaust gas temperature and the like) are of course no problem either.

The ignition magnet wheel is one-piece, manufactured to a high quality and balanced. The fan blades are CNC milled. The design of the fifteen fan blades has been optimized for higher cooling performance. The weight of the magnet wheel with fan blades is 1,2 kg.

Weight of the pole wheels in comparison

Flywheel Ducati 6-pole (Innocent number 00840134) J 100, J 125 1,35 kg

Polrad Ducati 6-pole (Innocenti number 00860038) lui 75 1,35 kg

Polrad Dansi 4-pole (Innocenti number 00860030) J 50, lui 50 1,4 kg

Polrad Vape with CNC milled fan blades lui 50-75, J 50-125 1,2 kg

Here we have put together the essential components - in addition to the ignition - for converting the on-board electrical system from J 50 to J 100 / J125:

A special feature of the J50 models is the limited space available with the original 50 rear light. A flat LED universal rear light can be the solution here.

When upgrading the lui 50 to lui 75 electrics it looks like this:

The lui 75 terminal board is - so far - only available for the original contact ignitions. When converting to electronic ignitions, all plug connections should be bridged together so that regulated 12 V is available across all of them.

Only green must not be combined with the other colors; here the engine is switched on and off.

The 6 volt horns/buzzers can be retained on all models. However, it is important to avoid honking in the future, otherwise the component will be damaged.

Lui and Junior Vape Ignition:

“210.000 km and 100 countries made (by now) by VESPA since September 2017 NON STOP”. This is how the social media of Ilario Lavarra welcomes all the Vespa fanatics who dream of long-distance trips. But long-distance here gets another huge meaning, briefly explained: The entire world!!!

He celebrated the 100th country of his journey on October 2023, and sent us this beautiful postcard, so we wanted to pay tribute to him by telling a little of the story of a #RealScooterist, in this case: the traveler! ;)

“To my friends from SC, who are supporting this Grand Tour around the world on a Vespa! A big hug from this incredible country, my #100 non-stop”

Ilario Lavarra

"First" long trip

"21 Americhe" - solo trip on an old vespa-

How do we meet Ilario?

As thousands of kilometers turn out to be thousands of friends, and I was one of the lucky ones to cross his path :)

Back in 2010, when he was on the middle of his journey: “21 Americans“ on a 40-year-old Vespa (Fast Sprint), 82.000 kilometers from the Arctic to the Antarctic and back (here the video). He entered Colombian territory, and for us, he was one of the first travelers that visited us. As it usually happens, we all gathered to hear the countless stories that he accumulated along with his kilometers and our friendship was set.

7 years later, was my turn to make a bigger Vespa trip, unfortunately not in my Vespertine (my PX over there). But thanks to him, we rode through Modena, Bologna, Verona, and Rome. That's how I knew his plans for a new trip, but this time a “little farther”…

Current trip

"Le Grand Tour'" - The longest journey ever on a Vespa

"Le Grand Tour" was the name given to the educational journey that became fashionable in the late 17th century. An excellent name if you ask me, because there is no better way to know the world but to experience it! and he describes it perfectly like this:

“It is a personal journey of knowledge across cultures and latitudes. And this knowledge makes me happy.”

He is now in the 2/3 part of the trip. Europe and Africa is already done! and now he finds in Bhutan, the country number 100 as part of the Asia and Oceania phase, later he will repeat America.

The Vespa chosen could not be another of course that a Granturismo, the GT 1968  with the name: Ardimentosa

The first 100.000 km

and as in a small summary of his 100 thousand km, ilario tells us the wonders he has seen:

“I love this Vespa, called Ardimentosa, which is gliding over the world meter by meter. Slowly, joyfully. And me with her. On the icy Scandinavian tundra with the aurora borealis lights. On the autumn warmth of the African deserts of Western Saharan. On the dirt roads of Bissau and Conakry. On the Atlantic coast to Nigeria. On the Cameroon war and the rainforests of Gabon and the two Congos. On the colors of Namibia's deserts and on the reefs of South Africa. On the burned savannahs of the eastern part, on the villages of huts and on the banana plantations of the thousand hills. On the warm silences of lava stone of the Horn of Africa, on the Coptic monasteries, on the pyramids. On the fairy chimneys and on the peaks to almost 5000 meters of Central Asia. On the snow of the kingdom of Persia and now on the gulf in front of the Arabian peninsula. One hundred thousand kilometers. Ole!”

A new chapter - INDIA

At that time, in India, Ilario was informed that Scooter Center was there some time ago making some buying for his OUR section and when some engine problems arose, he did not doubt to reach us. But what a surprise for both of us when I received his email, because he didn't know that I work here.

He has a philosophy of no sponsors, so he can travel free, but we responded, not as sponsors, but as partners, and the best way we can contribute to fulfilling his dream is with the parts he needs.

In the middle of the Indian jungle he sends me a message, tired of the hard trip:

“I am preparing to cross Tibet, I will leave from Nepal to get to Laos. As Tibet is a Chinese problem area, it will take me some time to get my visa.
In Tibet I will be driving for a week at about 5000m altitude, probably October/November.
The Chinese authorities want winter tires, compulsory in winter in Tibet.”

So we send him some other parts in need:

And believe me, India is not big, it is huge!!! INDIA IS A WORLD, the country with such a diversity and density of cultural, religious, ethnic, geographical aspects, etc. which in another country is IMPOSSIBLE to find. From Ladakh in the heart of the Himalayas at 8000m high, to the Buddhist Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim so close to Tibet, East India and its tribals with bamboo villages among mountains difficult to reach (that already seems to be in East Asia), to the Sickh Punjab and the infinite super populated plain of the Ganges, to the rural and the fascinating rural Hindu States of central India, and then the Muslim majority regions near Pakistan or Bangladesh, up to the high tea plantations of the Christian Kerala, to finally jump into the southern apex which is Kanyakumari. An infinite puzzle with billions of pieces different from each other, to enjoy one by one. Slowly.

We wish him the best of luck, although we know that he is surrounded by it thanks to the magic of the Vespa, his charisma and his wonderful story.

He will keep us updated on his journey. In the meantime you can catch up on his story with his videos and posts, which are not only amazing, but also entertaining.

you'll find the latest news of his trip on his website: Vespanda.com

While news for the more modern scooters is currently being presented at the EICMA, last weekend at the Mostra Scambio (November 3rd - 5th, 2023) there was long-awaited news for many Lambretta friends.

The lui 75 is by far the most complex Lambretta exhaust to produce, but also by far the one that works best on the lui models. (Resonance systems are left out.)

Lambretta lui exhaust – the structure:

And here again in a beautiful drawing from the classic:

In addition to the complicated interior, there are two heat shields screwed onto the outside and a chrome finish on the exhaust itself. An effort that is second to none and really makes reproduction a challenge.

Our surprise in Novegro was all the greater that two Italian manufacturers presented the exhaust as a reproduction.

The structure looks plausible:

We have ordered the systems and as soon as they have received their chrome bath, they will come to us and will be available in the shop.

The competing product from Tutto Lambretta was available for purchase and our exhaust is currently still in Dortmund. (Thanks Corina & Marco for the transport.)

As soon as the others are here, it will be put to the test.

A big thank you also to Dottore Markus for his translation skills in Novegro!!!

Stay tuned!

Vespa Club Wiehengebirge

The Vespa Club Wiehengebirge celebrated its 5th anniversary and Marco Niehoff shared these great photos with us, which testify to the perfect organization of the event in Bissendorf,

"On July 08.07.2023th, 5, the Vespa Club Wiehengebirge eV celebrated its 100th anniversary in a joyful atmosphere. Friends and enthusiastic Vespa enthusiasts from various clubs were cordially invited to this special occasion. The invitation was very well received and more than 70 guests flocked to the event, over XNUMX of whom proudly arrived on their own Vespas.

For the first 50 scooters that arrived that day, there was an exclusive bag filled with attractive “Giveaways". In order to have enough space for the event, we rented the DRK clubhouse in Bissendorf-Jeggen, which offered us plenty of space. An entertaining obstacle course for the fun games was set up in the parking lot. Here, visitors could demonstrate their driving skills and take the chance to win great prizes from our generous sponsors - including a high-quality Vespa helmet from the respected Schriewer company.

The obstacle course was given an additional pinch of excitement by a fully functional, old speed camera. After the visitors had completed the course, the speed camera offered the opportunity to take a souvenir photo if they exceeded a certain speed limit. For those who wanted even more snapshots of themselves and their Vespas, another flash unit was available that flashed along a marked route.

Another highlight was the Custom Show, in which each scooter was evaluated for its individual beauty and uniqueness. A homemade cell phone holder received the coveted trophy as an award at this show.

Of course, the physical well-being was also well taken care of. From bratwurst and delicious salads to tempting cakes and fragrant coffee – no one had to stay hungry. Given the scorching 35 degrees on this sunny day, our chilled soft drinks were particularly popular.

To live up to the spirit of Vespa, a refreshing 50 kilometer ride was organized at lunchtime. In case of emergency, a breakdown vehicle was available on the festival grounds, which fortunately was not needed.

After the exit, the winners were ceremoniously honored with generous prizes Prizes from our supporting sponsors. At this point we would like to thank all of our sponsors from the bottom of our hearts. You helped make this day an unforgettable event. Dallmann, Salon Dostal, The Village Shop, VGH, Small & Fine, Schriewer, Louis, SIP, Atelier Hartmann, Scooter Center.

A special thank you also goes to our valued visitors, the hard-working helpers, the speed camera collectors and the committed members of the DRK association. Without your support, this day would not have been able to shine in its full glory.

So this wonderful day, filled with lively petrol talks and exciting activities, unfortunately came to an end far too quickly. Once again, many thanks to everyone who helped make this day an unforgettable experience."

The Vesparaba 2023 of the Vespa Club Vitoria took place on October 7th with great success. Fito shared with us this great experience on the beautiful streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

This year's Vesparaba 07.10.2023 outing took place in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Saturday October 2023th, XNUMX.

Held by the organizer Vespa Club Vitoria with the kind support of the municipality of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava province. As well as that Vespa Club Spain.

After meeting at the “Plaza de la Provincia” and having breakfast, we set off with just over 100 Vespas and Lambrettas.

The approximately 100km trip during which we felt like we crossed several weather zones, fog, rain and bright sunshine, in and around the area around Vitoria-Gasteiz was very beautiful.

After the exit, we had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious three-course menu in the Zapirón restaurant as well as the draw and distribution of trophies (most beautiful Lambretta and Vespa in original condition, furthest journey, etc.) as well as the merchandising items that we received from, among other things Scooter Center have received to distribute,

At this point we would like to thank you on behalf of the club Scooter Center thank you.

We are really looking forward to more beautiful trips

Many greetings and always have a good trip

GP 200 electronic seat

Of the Lambretta dl 200 or called GP 200 in England there were roughly 9.400 units built. Unknown is the quantity of the dl and GP 200 electronics that left the factory.

In our history for every model, we can find this quote in the dl / GP model history section:

“But the ultimate improvement for the DL 200 was the introduction of an electronic ignition, which was developed in co-operation with Ducati. The DL 200 Electronic is easily recognized by a sticker on the legshields. The GP 200 electronic for the English market also has a specific seat. This newly shaped seat with its structured cover is a clear reminder of the 70s sports car interiors. Unfortunately no production numbers of the Electronic are known, as it was produced from 1970 onwards alongside the standard version with points ignition.”

Vittorio Tessera of CASA LAMBRETTA and MUSEO SCOOTER & LAMBRETTA fame takes a closer examination of the quantities of the dl and GP 200 electronic build in the brilliant:

A must read for any Lambretta nut!

Our red bgm CDI unit was meant as a homage to the original electronic ignition. But the seats for the Lambretta GP 200 electronic had always been rare as hen's teeth.

With a growing demand, we started to look into having these seats remade. Easy was to source the company to do that. Whom else to trust than our Italian artisans to have them Handmade in Italy.

The hard task was to get the project started with one good sample. Luckily we find help from our friend Martin Robinson from England who dropped off on his way to the Milano-Taranto Race not one sample, but three original seat frames and two seat covers. Now the detective work in England, Italy and Germany started and we looked into sizes, measurements, angles and materials.

We are more than happy with the outcome and can offer complete seats and seat covers directly from the SC shelf. We had them made with the factory original black stitching and a vintage version with white stitching. The original black cotton lisle fades out over the decades. Something we looked into earlier in the SC blog:

Veybach is already a friend of the house, but they have a long history behind them: “For over 25 years, passionate mechanics and tuning of classic Piaggio mopeds”

Therefore, this custom paint Ciao, presented as a premiere at the #opendaysc, was not his first tuning.

We saw his work in action first hand Nörvenich moped race witnessed Frank, Roland and Maryza taking their Ciaos on a tour of the event. and with the adrenaline of seeing all these little ones doing their best, we didn't hesitate for a second when Veybach Racing Team needed spare parts to continue the race and we sacrificed the Ciao from Roland.

That's why we wanted to take a closer look at one of their new designs: the Custompaint Ciao. This is what Dirk tells us:

Moped race Nörvenich by Scooter Center and Veybach racing. #mopedtuning

“What started as an idea turned out to be our most complex paint project to date.

Only through the support of the entire team, my business partners:

Powder Design Gibesch
HaPe bikes
Scooter Center
and my friend Rolf Bubmann
The project was finally able to get to the @scootercenter on time Open Day on March 23.09.23, XNUMX to get presented! 💪

I experienced the “ICE effect” during a visit to HaPe Bikes Workshop on one of the competition bikes he had painted and was immediately impressed. After a short conversation with him, we decided to try something like this on a larger area, i.e. on a moped. 👍

I then completed all the preparatory work so that Rolf could completely paint the Ciao, including all add-on parts, in silver.
Afterwards, all the parts went to Hape, who applied the “ICE effect” and all of our logos in an elaborate paint job. 🥰

In the first step, all parts that had previously been painted silver were sanded again so that the urea required for the effect would otherwise roll off on the clear coat and not achieve the desired effect. After it had dried and crystallized, Hape painted a layer of anthracite over it and washed everything off again after drying 🤣
The remains of the anthracite remained in the "crystal structure", which is responsible for the desired effect. A total of 7 layers of the violet glaze were then applied over this structure, which was then sealed again with a layer of clear varnish!
Now it was time to sand again... So that the logos of everyone involved could then be painted on. For this purpose, Hape created special negative stencils using a plotter.
Then there were another 2 coats of clear varnish and lots of sanding and polishing work.

While painting the logos, René came up with the idea of not using the 16″ 3-spoke “Avio” that he had already powder-coated in “Blackberry Candy” (and that I had already completely assembled 😝), but one of my 17″ 5-spoke “Banana”… But then powder-coating it in the shimmering “Rainbow”, like the logos! So I quickly @selog_brock
Ordered 2 Michelin Pilot Street and installed everything again... 🙄🤣

After I then on September 18.09th. all painted parts and on September 19.09th. After I got the rims back, I was able to start assembling them 😎
A small “screwing marathon” with kid gloves followed the next evenings, after finishing my main job… 😴

An attempt was made to incorporate many details, such as color-matching end sleeves, Bowden cables and much more. Even the gearbox housing was painted in shimmering black.

The engine, on the other hand, was kept quite classic.
A Polini Speedengine with a DR crankshaft and a 57cc AlfaErre cylinder from the 90s was installed. There was also a 13/13 Dellorto carburettor with a Malossi air filter and a LeoVinci Krul to properly release the exhaust gases 😉

As a team and also with the support of my employer, I was finally able to finish everything in time so that the presentation at the Open Day on September 23.09rd. nothing stood in the way anymore 💪

Thanks also to the whole team Scooter Center, who supported us with the supply of parts and also the fantastic stand at the Open Day!”

Lambretta rear shocker

In 2008 –fifteen years ago- we released one of the very first bgm PRO Lambretta products our rear shocker.

Over the years it got some upgrades and refinements, like rubber bushes for the mounting points. And also some first off ever things like the very clever height adjustment. Copied by many others. The second version of the BGM7772 Black edition was introduced already in 2010 and was so good that we left it untouched until last year.

We had been in contact with Rob Gray of @kickbackgarage fame anyway, then and now. As he offered us his help on redefining the settings of our rear shockers, we did not hesitate one fraction of a second.

The combination of a Lambretta riding suspension technician was hardly to beat, so we provided samples, drawings and everything else he needed and Rob started his mission in improving the setup.

Some new shims and new rebound needle later…

… Rob was happy and did a back to back test against the previously favored rear shocker. And this is Rob's direct comparison:

This super-clever refinements of a real suspension professional lead to a strictly limited edition:

Rob Gray Kick Garage

“The other shock is good but the bgm sample I have followed the road better than it.

The other is slightly overdamped and still skips and jumps on the road even when set up correctly as high speed compression is too harsh.

The new bgm has gained some really nice mechanical grip with my mods.

These are the highlights of the new shock:

  •   Can be set up quite firm without being harsh for faster engines or 2 up.
  •  Rebound control is not just better, but also easier to set up.
  •  The damper shaft might be thinner than on other dampers, but this is good because it doesn`t displace as much oil. This means the oil will not overheat and there is more space for more oil. (win win)
  •  Can be used on Series 1 and 2 and Series 3 without compromising on the stroke length.
  •  The use of more but thinner shims gives more control and the added bonus of pyramid shim stack is that they are progressive. This means that if you hit a hard square edge you automatically have firmer high-speed compression control. A faster movement on the shock gives more support through-out the shock stroke.
  •  We have cured the top-out issue! Yay! No funny noise and better rebound damping.
  •  Because of the shim stack configuration, we do not need to use progressive spring rates. This gives the illusion that the stroke is longer than it is and although we can use the full stroke, it doesn`t bottom out harshly.
  •  I recommend 15-20% say when setting up the shock, and I also recommend just 2-5 turns on the spring preload. 2 =75kg rider 5 =110kg rider. A spring always behaves better under less preload. I used 3 turns but backed it down to 2.5 (82kg with gear) I also have rebound set at 14 clicks from fully open.

Rob

At the time of writing five of these only are left and all of them come or came with this note from Rob:

“Thank you for purchasing, what I believe is the best off the shelf, rear shock for your classic Lambretta scooter.

I have combined my knowledge as a suspension technician and scooter rider to enhance and improve the overall ride characteristics.

Only after countless hours of real world, riding on some of the worst Scandinavian back roads was I happy with the final result.

The magic carpet ride quality is sporty but with fantastic small bump compliance.

This gives great mechanical grip, comfortable and confidence inspiring handling.

Enjoy and Happy Scootering.

Wittgenborn EST

Race report Wittgenborn

After the end of the summer break, the two- and four-stroke sounds of the EST finally started again. The penultimate race was in Hessen at the Vogelsbergring. Most of the favorites in the classes were determined. But the pursuers still had every chance of getting 100 points by the end of the season. The conditions for the competitions were ideal. The weather was raging on Friday night, so that ideal racing conditions prevailed in time for qualifying. And the times were incredibly fast. The best time of the day was: 51.232 in the K6 driven by Galeasso.

Four stroke sounds of the EST

The results of the weekend sorted by class:

K1 – Rookies by Scooter Attack

The first race of the day ended very early for second-placed Herrmann. Immediately after the pre-start, he had to push his scooter back into the pits due to a technical defect and was unable to start. Urban on pole had a clear run. However, he could not take the race casually. Vanore on two took aim at him. For third place, there was an exciting duel between Bechert and Kienzle. In lap 3, the race had to be red-flagged for a short time after Braun fell. And so it got exciting again at the restart, because the lead that had been built up was gone. At the top, the old positioning immediately returned. Urban ahead of Vanore and Bechert.

In the second race, Herrmann was able to start again after an engine swap. But after a short time it was called a technical failure again. Urban at the top had almost no competition. Vanore couldn't quite keep up in terms of speed. Kienzle came in 3rd place. And drew the field of three lap after lap on the way to the checkered flag. In the end, Urban won the daily ranking of the Rookies by Scooter-Attack with two faultless races.

Daily classification class 1 – Pitbike by Scooter-Attack

  1. #90 Marcus Urban 50pts
  2. #54 Federico Fanore 40 pts
  3. #88 Frank Bechert 29 pts.

Class 2 – by Deutscher Bauservice

Danish power at the SuperSport. Pedersen in first place followed by Ebeling and Sperling. Pedersen was able to pull out a lead. Ebeling looked best until the end to finish second. At times it went back and forth between the field of three. However, Ebeling received a time penalty for overtaking on lap 1 when yellow and therefore had to give up second place to Thönnissen. Sparrow came in 12rd place.

Pedersen was able to take the lead in the second race as well. But Thönnissen wanted to have a say in winning and was able to take the lead. As in the first race, the field of pursuers was close together. Drath and Sperling lurked behind Pedersen. In the field of four, every mistake was punished mercilessly. In any case, Pedersen put a lot of pressure on Thönnissen. He held up well. In the end, Pedersen was able to cleverly outbrake Thönnissen and thus take first place

Daily classification class 2 - SuperSport by Deutscher Bauservice

  1. #551 Emil Pedersen 50 pts.
  2. #43 Philipp Thönnissen 36 pts.
  3. #265 Patrick Ebeling 33 pts.

Class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

In the Experts, Schnelle started the first race the best. Lukas was second, followed by Kovac. Everything looked good for a Schnelle win. The lead was right and the speed was great too. However, on lap 2, Schnelle fell directly in the long start-finish corner and had to end the race prematurely. Lukas at the top, followed by Kovac and Schmitt came in 5rd place. Nothing changed in this positioning until the finish line. Lukas drove a deserved victory in front of Kovac.

In the last race it got really uncertain again. The rain forecast said rain in the tenth round. Close your eyes and hope to drive 15 laps without a drop. Due to the absence of Schnelle, the path was clear for Lukas. At least 4th place and he can make the sack in the championship and become an early champion in the Expert. And that's how Lukas started. Away in front with top speed. Kovac struggled behind, but couldn't get within striking distance. 3rd place, like in the first race, went to Schmitt. Lukas crashed on lap 7 and gave the lead to Kovac. Schmitt was also able to move up to 2nd place. The pilots chased each other. But it didn't go the full distance. Punctually after 75% race distance and 12 laps it started to dribble. Before the asphalt could turn into soft soap, the race control ended the race and declared Kovac the early winner ahead of Schmitt and Lukas.

Day class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

  1. #45 Denis Kovac 45 pts
  2. #111 Andreas Lukas 41 pts.
  3. #33 Carsten Schmitt 36 pts.

Class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

The first three starters at the BigBore's promised two great races. Ong in the lead against pursuers Monaya and Lukas. Ong had to do everything to keep Monaya in check behind him. Lukas couldn't quite keep up with the pace of the two. Monaya showed a lot of calmness and arranged Ong. ´With excess speed we passed him on the inside on the long start-finish. Ong then had to be careful not to be overtaken by Lukas as well.

The second race led Monaya from the start. Ong in 2nd place in chase mode, who was in turn chased by Lukas. Round after round the image manifested itself. Monaya was able to increase the distance bit by bit. The same applied to the gap between second and third place.

Day rating class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

  1. #12 Stephane Monaya 50 pts
  2. #169 Yannik Ong 40 pts
  3. #738 Andreas Lukas 32 pts.

Class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

There was a little surprise right at the start with the pit bikes. Gras had to give up his lead to F. Schweitzer on the first lap. J. Schweitzer came third, closely followed by Fritzsch. A great four-way battle. All pilots were only separated by a tire width and so a change of position could happen at any time. F. Schweitzer closed well, keeping grass behind him. F. Schweitzer was the first to cross the finish line ahead of Gras and Fritzsch.

In the second race, F. Schweitzer led the field. Gras and J. Schweitzer on two and three. In round 6, Gras could catch F. Schweitzer. And so the leading trio of Gras, F. Schweitzer and J. Schweitzer drove lap after lap towards the checkered flag. In the end, F. Schweitzer won ahead of Gras and J. Schweitzer.

Day rating class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

  1. #186 Florian Schweitzer 50 pts.
  2. #221 Henning Grass 40 pts.
  3. #54 Julian Schweitzer 29 pts.

Grade 6 - GP Open

By far the fullest field was this race in class 6. The guest starters from Italy showed special class and made it quite difficult for the traditional field around Schweitzer & Co. And that's how the race went. Galeasso at the top, under pressure from Schweitzer. He found himself in an Italian sandwich with Bertini and Galeasso. A great three-way battle that culminated in the many lappings. Schweitzer was able to take advantage of the opportunity in the tight network of bends and passed Galeasso in an ice-cold manner. It was already looking like a victory for Schweitzer when Galeasso tried everything again on the last lap. His ambition was to be rewarded shortly before the end and he was still able to grab Schweitzer. Third place went to Bertini.

The second race got off to a fantastic start for Galeasso. He was able to open up a small gap to second place early on on grass. He had to assert himself against Bertini the whole time. He pushed corner after corner and should be rewarded quickly. Gras had to let him go. F. Schweitzer and Bresciani fought for fourth place. In the end, Galeasso had to really fight against his Italian compatriot to avoid being conceded when he was lapped. But he did everything right, stayed cool and clinched the day's win in class 2.

Day ranking class 6 - GP-Open

  1. #6 Ezio Galeasso 50pts
  2. #20 Michael Bertini 36 pts
  3. #86 Florian Schweitzer 33 pts.

Grade 7 - Beginners

A wide-ranging starting field, also for beginners. A great development for the class and a good opportunity to gain racing experience in the big EST circus. Altmeppen in 1st place. He was by far the fastest in training. Frauenhoff was second, ahead of Eikenbusch. The race was littered with failures and falls. Altmeppen only got a little of all of this. He had to keep his nerve when lapping. For Frauenhoff, on the other hand, things did not go well. He had to park the scooter after the fall. The podium looked like this: Altmeppen ahead of Eikenbusch and Mirche.

Daily classification Class 7 - Beginners

  1. #494 Niklas Altmeppen 25 pts.
  2. #70 Nils Eikenbusch 20 pts.
  3. #51 Felix Mirche 16 pts.

Class 8 Endurance & 9 Endurance Split

In the long-distance, a record popularity was recorded among drivers. A total of 26 teams competed in the 3-hour challenge. In the K8, the SA Tuning team marked the top. Bueno`s could not keep up with the lap times. The lead grew – lap by lap. In class 9 with several vehicles, on the other hand, there was an exciting three-way battle. Xpear, Mieze 2 and Braam fought hard for the podium. After 1/3 of the race distance, the distance between the opponents was just 12 seconds. The Xpear Factory Team was able to claim the lead at this time. After 2/3 of the race distance, the rating looked much clearer. Xpear Factory Team was able to get a decent gap of 2 laps on the Mieze 2 team. Braam was third. it got tighter again. Place 3 and 4 went back and forth between Mieze and Racefoxx Pitbike ED. In the K5, SA Tuning was replaced by JD Performance. Bueno's was in third place. 8 minutes before the end there was a crucial technical defect. Mieze 3 lying in 10nd place had to push into the pit lane. The team was able to continue the race, but could not do anything against Xpear. And also in K2 it got the second JD-Performance was just behind Bueno's before the vehicle went on strike. And which means very briefly, that showed the finish line. 2 tenth distance after 8 hours of racing, that was a real heartbeat race.

Daily classification class 8 endurance

  1. #82 Bueno's 189 laps
  2. #191 JD Performance 189 laps
  3. #199 SA tuning 188 laps

Day classification class 9 Endurance Split

#222 Xpear Factory Team 200 laps

#54 Kitty 2 195 laps

#6 Braam 194 laps

Julius Nagy and upgrading his Lambretta 125 special with the bgm PRO Lambretta range

It's the first weekend of February 2023 and finally the Scooterist Meltdown held again. As usual, there are plenty of dealers on site presenting new products, product developments and the classics in the range. Among other things, our friends from the Rimini Lambretta Center / Casa performance and friend and neighbor Andreas von Nagy tin roller.

We set up our stand visasvis to the Rimini Lambretta Center and next to the hot tuning goodies like the Sledge Hammer and the new twin engine our eyes keep falling on the scooters we brought with us and are for sale. In addition to an immaculate Lambretta J 125 4-speed, it is above all a fantastically beautiful Lambretta 125 Special that keeps drawing our enthusiastic glances. Both scooters with Italian papers and at more than fair prices.

While the Stelina unfortunately goes back to Italy, the Nagy family proves its connoisseurship and the 125 Special stays in the Rhineland. Julius Nagy, the younger of Andrea's two sons, bought his first Lambretta at the age of 16 and a fantastically beautiful one. On Sunday after a perfect Meltdown number 9 the Rimini Lambretta Center makes a detour to Grevenbroich to Nagy Blechroller and delivers. Julius gets direct instruction from Marco with the 125 Special and can do the first lap.

Scooterist Meltdown

Our personal interim conclusion of the story up to here: super nice!

Since Julius still goes to school and the Lambretta is to be used as a daily driver, it was clear from the start that the engine had to be optimized. Technically, Rimini Lambretta Center had already repaired the scooter and it was ready for use anyway.

The tuning was done with bgm components is wonderfully summarized by Andreas after the first 2.000 kilometers completed.

“Before the holiday, the overhaul and increase in performance of the original 125 Lis engine was due. Since Julius uses the scooter as a daily driv
