Tools not only please the heart of a screwdriver, with the right tool the work is also easier to do.

Contrary to the usual myth that you need tons of special tools for the Lambretta, only a few tools are really essential.

ESSENTIALS CATEGORY It doesn't work without them

Allen key bgm PRO 3.5mm

Unusual size and used for the clamping nipples on the gearshift and clutch. The bgm key comes with a practical ball head. This means that the rear shift cable can also be reached when the clutch cable is attached and without a special control block.

Flywheel puller and suitable holders are the only way to remove the flywheel from the cone of the crankshaft. This is required for all work on the ignition system. But also if you want or need to penetrate deeper into the innards of the engine.

The flywheel holder 2+3 windows is intended for all original Innocenti and Indian flywheels with the corresponding recesses.

The bgm PRO pole wheel has an external hexagon on which the corresponding holder is attached. The holder is supported on the nut of the large silent blocks to hold it up.

There are two variants of the Casatronic ignition, one based on the IDM ignition and the current variant manufactured by Ducati Energia. The pole wheels are blocked with two or three pins on the pole wheel with the appropriate holder.

Both of them are irreplaceable. The compressor is used to relieve the circlip on the Lambretta clutch. After removing the ring, the coupling can be removed.
The clutch nut is tightened with 66 - 74 Nm. For both loosening and tightening the nut, the clutch basket should be blocked with the appropriate tool/holder.

MBD

In the mid-1960s the design of the brake drum was changed. At this point, the Series 2 will have three M7 threads instead of the two M6 threads previously used. This goes hand in hand with the use of the retaining ring for the cap nut on the main shaft/brake drum. Our pullers come with both M6 and M7 screws to hold the puller in place. If it is attached to the brake drum, the brake drum is pressed by the main shaft via the large central screw.

The OEM quality of the puller works, but is not the best in terms of haptics.

Casa Lambretta offers the tool in a beautiful workshop quality and it corresponds to the original Innocenti tool.

MBD has optimized the original design and features knurling on the outer edge and a ball in the tip of the central screw. This fits into the recess on the mainshaft and is intended to prevent any damage.

The MBD key for the headset bearing is perfectly adapted to the Lambretta. The holder for countering is separated according to the conditions of the Lambretta.

The compressor for the springs in the fork is used to overhaul the fork. Neither the fork links nor the springs and their spring guide rods can be removed from the fork without compressing the springs.

Both the Casa Lambretta and the MB compressor are based on the original design of the tool. This is sometimes a bit difficult to handle and a third or even fourth helping hand is usually not bad.

The OEM design, on the other hand, is screwed to the fork and handling is very easy and time-efficient. So here: clear purchase recommendation for OEMs.

Silent block assembly tool bgm PRO

LI, LIS, SX, TV, DL, GP

The silent blocks can only be changed with the appropriate tool and with a sufficiently heated engine housing. The bgm tool for this is a solid turned construction.

It is best to pull the crankshaft into the bearing on the drive side. The original drive sleeve with the screw for the front sprocket can be used for this.

The pull-in sleeve is a length-optimized version of the original drive sleeve and offers comfort and speed when screwing. In both versions, the crankshaft must be fixed (e.g. with a connecting rod locking tool.

The Casa Performance version is a rather ingenious further development, in which the crankshaft does not have to be blocked and the shaft is drawn particularly gently into the bearing seat.

The MB tool is still the first choice for dismantling the crankshaft. It is screwed onto the motor housing and then the shaft can simply be pushed out of the bearing seat

MB Developments

The MB Tools are still the first choice for crankshaft disassembly. It is screwed onto the motor housing and then the crank can simply be pushed out of the bearing seat.

Crankshaft drive sleeve puller

Exact copy of the original Innocenti tool. This allows tightly seated drive sleeves to be gently pushed off the crankshaft. The drive sleeve has two holes on the outer end for using the tool. The sleeve and tool are connected to each other with the two knurled screws on the side and then the sleeve is pressed off the crankshaft stump using the toggle.

Main shaft assembly tool

Before installing the gear backlash, it is important that the countershaft is fully torqued into the rear hub bearing. This can be done with the rear brake hub fixed. An alternative to this is Mark Broadhurst's final drive sleeve tool. Once the layshaft is in place, insert the sleeve by locking the socket head cap screw into the layshaft grooves, fitting the special nut provided, holding the sleeve with a wrench and tightening the nut until the layshaft is pulled into place with the correct torque is.

Determination of top dead center and ignition timing

The dial gauges and brackets, which are mounted in place of the cylinder head, are precision measuring tools for determining top dead center and ignition timing. A good choice if you already have an engine on the workbench or engine stand. If you need to do ignition timing with the engine installed, it may be easier to use the buzzwangle, beluga, or similar methods.

BUZZWANGLE from Sticky

The buzzwangle tool is a brilliant idea from the sticky. A digital degree disc can be clamped onto the threads for the flywheel puller using an adapter with four mounts. Thus, the digital angle dial gauge is immovably attached and both the ignition point and the control times can be determined and adjusted to an accuracy of 0,1°.

Fits all Lambretta Innocenti models and their derivatives. Just like on most Vespa and Piaggio models.

Spark plug wrench bgm PRO SW21mm/13mm

LI, LIS, SX, TV, DL, GP, Lui, Junior

The Li family's spark plug accessibility isn't the best. The original spark plug wrench fits, of course, but has the disadvantage that removing a hot spark plug can result in burnt fingers. With the bgm part, the candle can easily be completely unscrewed by hand after loosening. And not only that, an integrated magnet holds the candle securely in the key. There are guaranteed no burnt fingers here.

Assembly stand bgm PRO

Lambretta Series 1-3

Replaces the engine for assembly work. The assembly stand is screwed to the frame via the shock absorber attachment and the engine bolt. The scooter can then be maneuvered as if the engine were inside. Suitable both for keeping the scooter mobile and upright while the engine is on the operating table or for setting up the Lambretta after the preparation or painting when the engine is not yet ready.

Stud mounting tool

Clever tool from BGM for installing stud bolts without damaging them.
Screw the BGM Pro tool onto the stud bolt and counter with the integrated hexagon socket screw. It is braced with the thread of the stud bolt. Now turn the outer wrench flat. The stud bolt is fixed and is loosened or screwed in. Make sure that the counter-locking is sufficiently strong so that the tool does not come loose.

Ideal for short bolts (such as Lambretta gearbox covers).
The required minimum length of grippable stud thread is:

  • M6 / /M7 = 6,5mm
  • M8 = 9mm

Available individually or as a set.
Also available for the rare thread size M7!

Required additional tool:

  • Combination wrench: SW19
  • Allen key: 6mm

NOTE: Please note that stud bolts glued in with screw adhesive/Loctite often have a very high breakaway torque. Here you should first try to heat the stud(s) or the housing around it in order to loosen the adhesive connection.

Lambretta tool bag retaining clip

The Innocenti icing on the cake of a beautiful restoration is the original on-board tool kit in the right bag with Lambretta Innocenti ribbons and then fixed with the correct retaining clip.

A nice reading recommendation on the subject of tools is the reprint of the Innocenti tool catalogue.

Oil measuring cup

Another nice addition to any Lambretta tool box is the Innocenti oil can from Casa Lambretta. This is an exact copy of Innocenti's American market device. It comes complete with a snug fitting cap. It has the 'Lambretta' and 'Innocent' logos embossed on the sides.

in the SC shop

An old friend of Scooter Center was here. Sebastian Alvarez from Argentina, he came especially for EuroLambretta 2022 in Belgium and Euro Vespa Days in Portugal and now that he was around he decided to stock up on spare parts for his shops, learn more about the facilities at the Scooter Centers to find out and to visit us.

And of course I had to be there to tell him all about it in his native language Scooter Center and Cologne to explain!!!

History of Vespa and Lambretta in Argentina

but we also took the opportunity to learn a little more about the incredible history of Vespa, Lambretta and the very special one: Siambretta in Argentina, because it is one of the South American countries with the longest Vespa and Vespa Club history, and how could different when the Vespa is represented by a legend: Juan Manuel FANGIO, the Argentine racing driver considered by experts as one of the most outstanding professional drivers in world motorsport of all time, having won five world titles in Formula 1.

With so much luck, Sebastian had access to beautiful treasures from his customers, like this piece with original papers signed by Fangio:

The origin of the Siambretta in Argentina begins in the 1950s, with the SIAM company, which imported all the parts, but then started building under the name: SIAM-Lambretta, the desire then took the name: siambretta, the success was such that it started production quite nationally.

The curious thing about the Siambretta is that the most famous models in Argentina were exactly the oldest Lambretta models, while in Italy the 200, 175, 150, etc. are the most "common" Lambrettas, while in Argentina the 125 was very successful. In Argentina there are circles of “siambreteros” who own motorcycles admirable for their level of originality.

Restauraciones Extremas - Official Dealer Scooter Center in Argentina

and Restauraciones Extremas are part of this important history in Argentina, reviving ancient beauties. Here are some examples of the "extreme restorations" he's done and some of them are possible thanks to the new parts he's from Scooter Center got.

The end of an era is very near to come. There had been rumors in 2019 about the closure of the Scooters India Limited in 2019, in January 2021 it was official that the Indian cabinet made the decision for closing SIL indeed.

what was Scooters India Limited?

The SIL company took over the rights and tools for manufacturing the Lambretta from Innocenti in 1971. Until the plant was set up and running it took a while. But from 1975 onwards they produced and marketed the two-wheelers Vijai Deluxe (DL) and later the Vijai Super for the domestic market and the Lambretta GP for the export markets. Besides the two-wheeler production they also produced the three-wheelers, mainly for the domestic market though. The two-wheeler production was stopped in 1997 and the focus from then on was for the three-wheelers and Lambretta spares for the export market.

The SIL scooters were popular during the 90's and Scooter Center as well imported quite a few containers full of brand new SIL Lambretta GP 200 back then.

Now it seems that the factory is going to be demolished very soon. Our friend Abhi was so kind to send us some pictures he has recently taken in the SIL plant. Who knows, maybe the last ones.

The end of an era!

SCOOTERS INDIA LIMITED SHORT FACTS:

  • Incorporated in 1972 as Scooters India Limited.
  • Company's plant owes its origin to Innocenti of Italy from which it bought over the plant and machinery, design, documentation, copyright and so on. The company is also said to possess the world right of the trade name LAMBRETTA / LAMBRO.
  • In 1975, company started its commercial production of Scooters under the brand name of Vijai DL (later Vijai Super) for domestic market and Lambretta for overseas markets.
  • Located at 16 Km mile stone, South-west of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh on No 25 and well connected by road, rail and air.
  • Key player on supplying Lambretta enthusiasts around the world until the end of the 90s.

On the couch at Scooter Center. An interview with Julia Spitzna

Being part of the Scooter Center team means to work with great people. Better than working is riding!

On my left and right side at the office, I have passionate Lambretta aficionados. Therefore, it probably was only a matter of time before I ride with one of them. In this case with her, but she is not just any girl, she is Yoleila (at Facebook) or Julia.

She is the president of the Lambretta Club Germany, scooter racer, almost a collector, crazy for the original scooters and parts, graphic designer and I could keep going…

That is why we interview her, to listen to those stories that we love to hear.

As a result, A very exciting project is about to be started,

stay tuned until the end to find out where it is all about;)

Hose 3.00 10

Vespa & Lambretta Smallframe inner tube 3.00 x 10 bgm PRO

We have chosen a very high buty content for the new bgm PRO inner tubes in favor of better quality and higher safety and therefore a separate tube size for tires up to 3.00-10 and 90 / 90-10 = Vespa & Lambretta Smallframe. Other inner tubes with a lower butyl content have more flexibility due to a higher rubber content. They serve a wider range of possible tire sizes (up to 130 / 90-10), but as a major disadvantage, poorer air tightness and puncture resistance must be accepted.

Our bgm PRO hoses are manufactured to our specifications especially for the needs of Vespa and Lambretta scooters. The butyl content is over 55%, which makes them extremely airtight and absolutely reliable. The high butyl content makes the hose more expensive to produce, but the result justifies the expense! Nevertheless, we offer this high-quality hose at a great price:
Buy Smallframe inner tube here

Fitting instructions Fitting inner tube & tire

TIP: Our bgm PRO scooter inner tubes can be used in many vehicles with 10-inch tubular tires. When mounting, insert the tires at the bead with mounting paste and dust the inside of the tire with talcum powder. The mounting paste ensures the correct end position of the tire while the talc minimizes the friction of the inner tube. This maximizes the safety and life of the inner tube. Delivery mission with Lambretta TV 175 and Vespa GTS in Bangkok

Travelogue Thailand, Bangkok 2018

It is January 2021 and we are still missing the lifestyle associated with our chosen way of life. No runs, no nighters, no racing and sometimes it feels like no nothing than Covid. So, the other day we were discussing in the Skype lunchtime meeting the subject of our business travels.

We did a lot and most ended up being sweaty and covered in dust and grease or over tired on some motorways with a hangover on our way back.

One of the ultimate highlights of all Scooter Center travels has been the one to Bangkok in 2018. We had the plan to visit the dealers over there and get a better feeling for the scene in Thailand. We are in general very far from being hypercritical and see the positive things rather than negative things. A lot of the complaining in the western hemisphere is not very objective and the usual prejudice when it comes to Asia is - let us face it - copycats.

Buddy Seat Lambretta Garage

We were really looking forward to see what would be waiting for us. Our first stop after we landed was visiting Buddy seat Lambretta garage. A fantastic place with frame and fork jigs and an unbelievable level of artisanship. Starry-eyed as we are, we simply tried to find the place ourselves. The try was without any success and we had to ask a taxi driver to call the shop to find it. As things were not easy, the shop owner itself came to guide us. And hey presto, we are in town less than two hours and are escorted by a Lambretta TV 200 to the shop. Not a too bad start for the seven-day business trip. The language barrier was sadly there, but the gestures between some Lambretta nuts worked well and we made the conversation this way.

As we do not want to bore you to death with every single detail, we make it short. Our second stop was the Lambretta Thailand Café that hosts as well as the Lambretta Thailand Shop of our good friend Toon, he speaks perfect English and took care of us for the rest of our stay in BKK. He really made the business trip to the perfect holiday at least for Philipp. Maybe even Ulf.

Before we send the final sample to Spain, we put the new box through its paces. Additionally we have another prototype box from our friend Chalky from Replay Scooters and JPP on the dyno:

  • bgm PRO BigBox Proto
  • JPP box prototype

The following expansion chambers compete against the boxes:

  • the TSR Evo,
  • the JL3 and
  • in MB3

And all three reso systems did better against the boxes than we would have expected! The Lambretta exhaust systems

The Lambretta engine

The test engine was constructed as follows:

Results & conclusion of the test

Nice and clear to see how well the box scores right from the start not only with but also with plenty of torque compared to the 'racing exhausts'.

That's what makes the bgm PRO boxes so nice to drive. There is always enough power available without having to struggle with gear connection problems or having to twist the throttle like crazy to get things moving. The moderate consumption values of the engine concepts with the bgm boxes are another advantage, apart from the original appearance and pleasant sound level. Another outstanding feature is the registered design of the mounting system with adjustment options in both horizontal and vertical directions. This allows tolerances and, above all, spacers used for different strokes and connecting rod lengths to be compensated for.

Lambretta Lui test stand

The boss has come up with something: Lambretta Lui dyno days!

From the very beginning - since 1992 - the Lambretta has been a permanent fixture at our Scooter Center. Much has changed in almost three decades. While in the 90s it was mainly the GP and, if necessary, other Series 3 models, the complete range from Series 1 and 2, the cardan models and the Lambretta 'Smallframes' * has become more popular than ever.

Especially the small lambrettas with 50 cc displacement were completely useless until the release of the 75 Casa Lambretta cylinder in early 2009 due to the extremely modest mileage.
CASA LAMBRETTA 75 cc- Lambretta Lui 50 cylinders

Ulfs Lui Lambrettas on the test bench

We took the soft lockdown as an opportunity to put a part of Ulf's Lui collection through its paces. We were especially interested in how the 75cc Casa cylinder performs against the original Innocenti 75 cc cylinder. And were even surprised how well it was 75 cc aluminum cylinder performed with Nikasil coating.

In the performance chart you can see in the blue corner a completely original lui 50 C. The power curve with 2,1 HP “peak” power you have to look for at the height of the torque curve of the two 75s. The green curve with 4,5 HP at about 5.500 rpm has delivered an original Vega with SH20 carburettor. The red curve is a 75cc Casa engine. The cylinder was fired with the 15 SHA carburettor kit (main jet 68). A special feature of the engine is the exhaust of the 75cc models, which is unfortunately not available new and very sought after.

Lambretta Cable Routing

How to get the Lambretta gear changing work perfectly and smoothly?

We take a close look at the controls and what can be done down from the headset through the cables to the gear swivel and gear selector arm on the engine casings.

Let's face it the last Lambrettas have left the Innocenti factory half a century ago. And not everyone has been maintained and serviced regular and as it should be done. One of the many beauties on the Lambrettas is that they are very simple to work on, especially with the right tools, right parts and the right hints (Sticky). There are three areas to look at:

  • Handle bar / headset
  • Cables
  • Engine casing

Lambretta handlebar/headset

Thru the Li family there had been different changes on the internals of the headset. On well-maintained bikes most of the time taking everything apart, cleaning and put it properly greased and lubricated can do the job. When you are up the job, it won't do no harm to renew all the bushings in the headset. These are the guides for the gear and throttle rods. Available as handy sets from Casa Lambretta:

* also dl / GP range

Anti-vibration kit handlebar -Lambretta-

If you need additional spares a nice way to find them are our exploded views, which are online for all Lambretta scooters. Here you see the dl / GP headset:

https://www.scooter-center.com/en/innocenti-lambretta-gp-200-dl-200/exploded-views/handle-bar-speedometer

Once everything is properly rebuild and any slack is taken out - especially of the gear change housing and the gearchange rod - you are done with the headset and can have a look at the cables.

Lambretta cables and routing

Essential are Teflon / PTFE lined cables. These run super smooth and are maintenance free. The bgm cable sets are especially made for the Li family Lambretta and have some unique features. The right inner and outer cable lengths are granted. Here you will find additional info about how good these are: https://blog.scooter-center.com/en/cable-sets-bgm-pro-for-vespa-and-lambretta/. Back to the plot: Once you have routed the outer cables in the right way as can be seen on the bgm's fitting instructions:

  • Cable set bgm PTFE inner liner- Lambretta DL, GP | BGM6401N

It's time to fit the inner cables. On the brake and clutch levers use a good blob of grease to keep everything well lubricated. Especially the lever screw, the trunnion of the inner cable and all operating and moving parts.

A run-down of the inner cables with Teflon spray does no harm and especially the operating of the clutch is much more easy:

Top tip: If the bolts of the clutch and brake lever are not properly greased they can wear off the holes in the light switch housing and gear change housing. These can easily be repaired with the oversize bolt:

Lambretta engine casing

The most important thing is to avoid any unwanted slop in the gear swivel, tie rodgear change and the selector arm. Luckily there are many different choices for everyone's tasting available.

Selector sets

Something we went not original is the key for adjusting these. The bgm one comes with a ball end. This makes adjusting the gear change trunnions a cakewalk as you come across the clutch cable easily:

Allen key -BGM PRO- 3.5mm-bgm Pro Article no .: BGM6466TL

Top tip: For all the rusteration freaks out there that want to keep their Lambrettas as original as possible we have oversize trunnions made for preserving worn out gear swivels:

Clamp nipple / screw nipple set -BGM PRO Oversize- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP

The oversize makes the trunnions fit perfectly in used gear swivels. If necessary, grind out new shifting paddles minimally.

These perfectly compliment the inner cable sets:

25Y Lambretta Club Stockholm

25 years Lambretta Club Stockholm

From the 5th to the 6th of September our friends and long time customers from the Lambretta Club Stockholm celebrated their 25th anniversary. The actual Covid situation made it an event for Club members only.

The agenda for the celebration:

  • Gathering and start in Stockholm
  • Ride out and lunch
  • Competions (slow-race, gymkhana, finest Lambretta)
  • Celebration dinner Close to water in the old gun powder house "Kruthuset"
  • Announcement and prices to the competition winners
  • 4 DJ's and northern soul music from 21:00 to late

Scooter Center and Casa Lambretta were very pleased to mustard over some greetings for the goodie bag. And we were even more pleased to see that once again the Lambretta united such a bunch of nice people that simply have the time of their lifes with the Lambretta obviously.

Lambretta ignition BGM PRO

The Lambretta ignition

The bgm PRO Lambretta ignition was one of the first of our bgm products. Now the latest version 4.5 with silicone cable is available: bgm PRO ignition base plate

The first sample of the ignition base plates was presented on our stand at the Eurolambretta '07 in Neckarsulm. The base plate of our ignitions is based on the electronic ignition, which was introduced in 1970 with the Lambretta dl 200 electronic. Later this Innocenti ignition base plate was “adapted” by Piaggio for the Vespa. This type of ignition is probably the most widespread model.

In direct comparison, the bgm PRO ignition base plate gives an extremely stable ignition spark and maximum light output due to the optimized number of turns and wiring.

bgm PRO Lambretta ignition base plate 4.5

With version 4.5 of the Lambretta ignition base plate, good things get even better. The good and proven features of our ignition remain and have been optimized in many small details:

  • 120W strong light output thanks to maximum number of windings
  • Proven excitation coil with copper plate for highest reliability
  • Pickup with carbon barrier layer for a clean ignition pulse
  • Cleanly processed light coils
  • High quality solder joints
  • Gray and black bougier tube
  • Sufficient cable length for individual cabling
  • Optional spacers to adjust the pickup height when used with other pole wheels than the bgm PRO rotor.

new features

  • Base plate in black
  • Scale with degree exact scaling for quick adjustment of the ignition when flashing
  • Silicone cables: extremely flexible & temperature resistant (-40 ° C to + 250 ° C).

The alternators are available as AC and DC versions:

      • AC = alternating current = light via alternator
      • DC = direct current = light via battery

Bench bgm PRO Lambretta Lui

Little Lambretta very big

The LUI was intended to anticipate the design of the 21st century. Compared to all others scooters built before, the design is significantly reduced and streamlined. The implementation of this idea was in the hands of the Bertone Design Studio. Bertone created a truly avant-garde design with the LUI and Verga series. Even today, LUI and Vega seem as fresh as they did in the spring of 1968, when the slogan "All for Lui, and Lui for all”Was advertised. Only the performance of the LUI with a 50 cc engine is 38 km / h below the expectations.

At the latest since completely new possibilities in the tuning sky through the Casa Performance parts, the small Lambretta models J, Lui, Vega and Cometa are enjoying great popularity.

In our Lambretta shop you will not only find a large selection of spare parts, tuning and accessories but also a model history including technical data of these vehicles:

Bench for Lambretta LUI

For us scooter riders, besides performance, the appearance of our scooters has always been important. Benches are an important stylistic element here, with the right seat we can support and emphasize the shape of our beloved scooters. They should also be as comfortable as possible. We have now designed a new bench for the Lambretta Smallframe models.

The design of this bgm seat for the Lambretta Lui is perfectly done by our design team. The seat picks up the line of the tank as if no other seat had ever been designed for this scooter.

The contemporary and high-quality Alfatex cover on the sides of the bench completes the picture. The quality, robustness and refinement is at the usual high level of our benches, of course MADE in ITALY.

Our proven magnetic mechanism is also used to lock and unlock this bench. We are always amazed at how ingeniously simple the handling is and how beautifully the bench fits into the lock.

Conclusion on the bgm bench

This seat could probably not have been designed better by Bertone, we can only show you pictures here, to touch, sit, drop into the lock yourself: Please order here!

SC Specials Lambretta

We have always been at the forefront in Germany when it comes to the Lambretta. We started our business nearly 30 years ago with bringing Lambrettas and Vespas from Italy and England to Germany. And did a lot of development aid here with that. After loads of scooters had been imported, we started to organize the spares and tuning parts as well- And that is how it all started back then.

bgm PRO Competition - new bgm crankshafts for Lambretta

From strength to strength!

bgm pro

We have revised our crankshfts for Lambretta. We worked with the manufacturer for almost three years and we are very satisfied with the results. The testing lasted as long as the development work.

The new crankshafts for Lambretta are available with 58 mm and 60 mm stroke and 107 mm, 110 mm and 115 mm conrod:

Tested on the circuit

Darren Conneely of the Team Replay successfully tested the bgm PRO Competition crankshafts during the BSSO competition of the season 2018. Paul “Chalkie” White of the Team replay mounted on the Lambretta Group 4 the cylinder bgm RT 195 and the new crankshaft bgm PRO Competition. With a power of over 30 HP on the rear wheel and up to 11,000 rev / min that was a real endurance test.

And while we intensively tested these crankshafts on the road, Darren, with our crankshaft, took the second place in the Group 4. Congratulations!

15 years experience in crankshaft development

there is 15 years of experience with building our Lambretta cranks. The development of this new and massively improved type has taken another three years of development work and tests to realize a shaft that offers maximum anti-twisting stability.

Team Replay used a selection of bgm parts during the BSSO race Series in 2018. Replay's rider Darren Conneely finished the season in Group 4 on a 2nd overall using the new crank.

CASA LAMBRETTA - SCOOTER & LAMBRETTA MUSEUM

Above the head offices of Casa Lambretta we have the Museo Scooter & Lambretta. In a plain building Vittorio has managed to create an exhibition which is unique for the quality and quantity of the scooters on display.

Founded in 2001 in its original location with the support of the city of Rodano, the museum was included in the provincial museum system Milano Citta del Progetto in 2004 and since 2010 it is hosted in its present location.

THE MODELS ON DISPLAY

Around 160 exhibits exemplify document the history of the scooter. The first models were built before the Second World War, whereas the latest exhibits date back to the 70s. Besides the Italian models, Vittorio has also collected scooters produced by manufacturers from England, Germany, Austria, Spain, USA, Russia, France, Japan, Belgium, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

In the first of the five exhibition halls there are about ten Vespas from the V98 models onwards. When moving to the other halls, we pass by three Belmondo scooters from the 40s, probably what inspired Piaggio to design the Paperino.

In the halls 2 and 3 the different scooters are grouped according to year and country of manufacture. The exhibition is just impressive: from perfect restorations, scooters found in a barn and in preserved state, to new vehicles in original condition, here you can just find everything. Among the rarest models we have the Honda Juno K (Honda's first scooter dating back to 1954, the Nibbio, built in Lombardy in 1947, the Bastert monotrace or also the Auto-Fauteuil (the first scooter model dating back to 1908).

THE LAMBRETTA COLLECTION

The heart of the collection is represented by the Lambretta models displayed in the further two halls. From 1947 to 1971 Innocenti built over four million of Lambretta scooters in the nearby factory at Lambrate. If you also add the licensed production from India, Spain, Germany, France, Asia and South America, the Lambretta represents one of the most produced scooters worldwide.

Thanks to his decade long passion Vittorio was able to raise a unique collection of Lambretta scooters: from the first, widely known models A with chassis number 2, to the three wheel FB Lambretta with box casing dating back to 1949, two Lambrettas series 2 with genuine paint for the Olympic games which took place in Rome in 1960, the completely gold -plated TV 175 series 3 for the actress Jane Mansfield, to different Lambrettas painted in yellow and with a four-leaf clover, reserved for the Innocenti family.

The absolute highlight are the prototypes and one-off models which would probably not have survived if Vittorio had not rescued them in time.

Casa Lambretta, a long story ...

Made in Italy: Hand made seat covers from Casa Lambretta

We have been working very closely with Vittorio Tessera from Casa Lambretta for many years. Our cooperation is based on a friendly relationship and a love for the vehicles from Milan.

Casa Lambretta produces Lambretta parts for the Li family (Li, TV, LiS, GT, SX, dl and GP) the small Lambrettas Junior and LUI as well as for the early cardan models.

In addition to reproducing parts, Vittorio Tessera has a considerable collection of various scooters that he makes available to the public in the Museo Scooter & Lambretta. As a rule, he also likes to take the time for a personal tour:

Color of the seams on the Lambretta's seat cover

A popular and controversial question is the color of the seams on the seat covers. Would the seams have to be white or the same as the color of the seat? For this purpose, Vittorio sent us a couple of original photos from Innocenti, which show the color of the seams. Nice to see in the photo with the two Silver Specials that both end caps on the seat belt were used during production.
