Modern technology for oldtimer scooters. A solution which is not only adapted for Vespa scooters and which allows to adapt the old technology to the needs of nowadays road traffic.
In contrast with the charm of an old genuine steel rim (maybe even rusty), the new BGM wheel rim features many considerable advantages offered by the modern technology.
This robust wheel rim in aluminium allows you to mount tubeless tyres which are usually used in the motorcycle sector and replaces the geuine rim without any modifications necessary.
In comparison with the Vespa PX genuine steel wheel rim, the BGM PRO rim is 600g lighter. Since you don’t need to mount a tube-type tyre, you’ll have about 370g less. The unsprung weight is reduced by almost 1kg for each axis (over 64%). Das Ansprechverhalten des Fahrwerkes verbessert sich spürbar.
Thanks to the double hump in the rim well the tyre always bonds to the rim safely. Like for the most recent runflat technology in automotive sector, if the tyre is punctured for instance by a nail, it loses air, but slowly and without sliding from the rim well. The tyre continues to support the vehicle’s weight and this allows you to keep control of the vehicle. The wheel rim also features cutouts between the mounting points. The cooling of the brake is improved.
The BGM PRO aluminium rim replaces one-to-one the genuine rim and fits almost all vintage scooters with manual gear change like e.g.

We visited Wolle, Gorden and Marcus in the new Scooter & Service location in Bispingen.
In this temple of the scooter the team works on custom scooters and powerful Vespa engines. Here a couple of pictures that show how the Superflow Series are developed. Wolle states:
We were very happy to see that our bgm shock absorbers are used on the Superflow Series and that more and more bgm parts are used on the engines and scooters.

The extremely bright MOTO NOSTRA LED headlight is a legal and top-quality tuning headlight.
Some years ago the very bright and white light was an exclusive feature of Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Their expensive xenon technology was gradually replaced by the modern and flexible LED technology. This significant innovation in the lighting technology benefits now also scooter riders.
The LED headlight with E-mark can now legally replace a common motorcycle or scooter headlight.
In order to use our Ø143mm High Power LED headlight by MOTO NOSTRA on the Vespa PX models, nowadays still so much loved, we have developed an adapter ring with brackets, also a MOTO NOSTRA item.
Thanks to this adapter the headlight can be mounted on the handlebar head like a standard headlight.
Detailed fitting instructions can also be downloaded.
The LED headlight features an over three times brighter light output (1,300 lumen). The power consumption is only 20 watt.
This corresponds to the light output of a common 100 watt headlight.
With the available stator/power supply you can have a much better light output. Moreover, you have more power left for other electrical consumers.
The black plastic ring works as frame around the headlight as well as adjuster of the luminous range. The lasered brackets guarantee a tight fixing to the genuine fastening points in the handlebar head.
The mounting kit with the headlight fits all Vespa PX models from 1977 on.
PLEASE NOTE: the headlight requires 12 volt direct current (DC) (vehicle battery). Cannot be connected to the standard alternate current (AC) electrical system of the PX models.
Get here your LED headlight Get here your mounting ring for LED headlightYou surely know that. Want to stow a lot of things but your under-seat storage ist already full: helmet, tools, oil…
The conventional solution: the usual rigid top box.
Very practical, but actually not always the most elegant option…
The Moto Nostra solution: a roller bag in vintage style, soft and flexible, but at the same time very stable. Suits perfectly any scooter.
The Moto Nostra vintage roll bag is an ideal and elegant alternative to the rigid top case. Despite its compact dimensions this bag is very capacious.
Perfectly fits all vintage scooters and gives them an eye-catching style.
The bag is water-resistant, but it’s also provided with a rain cover, perfect if the bag is often exposed to rain.

Vespa topcase at special priceThis nice bag in synthetic leather is much more than “just” a topcase.
This handy bag has a round shape which recalls the shape of a tyre. In the past it was usual to fix a spare wheel on the rear luggage rack. Today you can mount this topcase on the rack of your modern Vespa. An extensible topcase which becomes a helemt bag.
Thanks to the patented fastenings you can quickly fasten the topcase on the rear rack and unfasten it easily. The handle allows you to use this elegant topcase as handy bag.
Get here your Vespa helmet bagThis original topcase in synthetic leather was specially designed for the 946 Vespa models. However, with some modifications, it fits many other scooters as well. Fitting instructions are included in the item. If you don’t have a Vespa 946, you just have to create an adapter for the fixing screws used to mount the topcase.
The Vespa bag is provided with the LOXX screw system:
The item includes the genuine LOXX (R) screws M5x22mm.
Here we show you how to make an adapter for your rear rack which allows you to mount the topcase. LOXX fastenings are very easy to use:

Here in our blog article we have grouped the classic Vespa models in three categories:
The main difference is represented by the size of their frame. Largeframe models have for instance a larger frame and are heavier in comparison with the Smallframe models.
The genuine small Vespa models are provided with a displacement of maximum 125cc, e.g. Vespa PK 125 or Vespa Primavera/ET3.
However, the term Smallframe usually indicates 50cc scooters. The frames of the Smallframe models are narrower and lighter. On the engine side there is only a flap to reach the spark plug and other parts.
Smallframe models include for instance the following vehicles:
Largeframe are Vespa models with the maximum power: 80-200cc and up to 12HP. The side panel on the engine side can be completely removed. Largeframe models include for instance:
The Wideframe models are the Vespas from the early 50s: the very first models with large side panels and often with tube handlebar or headlight on the mudguard like in the rod models “Faro Basso”. All Vespas with a flap under the seat are the Wideframe models. The frames are large because of the wide engine mounting. Here some examples of this Vespa range:

The Vespa Sei Giorni is among the most sought-after collectors items. A Vespa Sei Giorni, but what’s it all about?
In 1951 the Vespa company’s racing team “Piaggio Squadra Corse” gained massive attention during a race. The “Sei Giorni Internationale” took place from the 18th to the 23rd Septemper 1951 in Varese, in the hinterland of Lake Maggiore in Italy. It was one of the hardest and most important competitions of that time: 220 participants riding over several kilometres in an off-road environment.
Still today this six days reliability trial is known as “International Six Days Enduro”. The first race took place in England in 1913, a test of the limits of both daring racers and machines. And in 1951 the Vespa was just 5 years old!
For this race Piaggio modified a small part of three hundred 125cc Vespa models. The racing team “Piaggio Squadra Corse” participated with these ten scooters. But how could the small Vespas, built specially for this race, compete against motocross motorbikes?
Surprisingly the Piaggio company’s racing team (racers: Biasci, Cau, Crabs, Mazzoncini, Merlo, Nesti, Opesso, Riva, Romano, Vivaldi) won the competition with their Vespas, outdoing the offroad motorbikes: 9 out of 10 racers got a gold medal. In 1951, for this top performance the Vespa 125 “Sei Giorni” also won the prize of the Italian motorcycling federation and with their Italian Vespa models the three racers Giuseppe Cau, Miro Riva and Bruno Romano stole the limelight from all other racers.
The Vespa “Sei Giorni” was optically very similar to the series model. The main differences which were visible were for instance more tank volume, improved aerodynamics of the leg shield and a bigger engine cover.
As we reported from the motorcycle show Eicma in 2016, in memory of this legendary success, Piaggio released a special edition: the Vespa Sei Giorni 300.
After the Eicma morotcycle show 2016, we got the idea of creating a new Scooter Center demonstrator which represents a fusion of the automatic Vespa and the classic Vespa. Just like our Vespa shop where you can just find everything you need for your modern or vintage Vespa.
We were inspired by this new model and wanted to release our own “modern” Vespa Sei Giorni. Alex Stroh (right) und Frank Winkel (left) worked on the project of our new Scooter Center Vespa Sei Giorni.
Our new Vespa demonstrator was a normal, slightly accident-damaged Vespa GTV…
The filled building foam was just a model for Mathias Laubsch from Blechwerk in Neuss, http://www.blechwerk.com/, who brilliantly transformed it into metal sheet.
For the typical “nose” we mounted a horn cover which is normally used on a Vespa VNA-VNB. We “just” welded the indicators and the hole under the tail light and Vespa Sei Giorni was brought to the painter…
All plastic parts got a silver coating so that patinatig could be made on “metal sheet” and not on bare plastic.
Then, all metal and plastic parts were painted with a deep red coating which was used in the 50s and then again with a second coating in grey before being painted eventually with the red varnish which recalls the typical coating of the first Piaggio race models.
The seat frame was made in our workshop and given to the seat specialist Holger http://www.sitzbankdoktor.de/ who sacrificed his old leather jacket and made the perfect seat for the Sei Giorni.
The handle bar was replaced with a M-shaped handle bar by Fehling.
In order to get the patina effect we used files and sandpaper!
Want to admire our customised Vespa Sei Giorni live? Then cume and visit us in our store in Kurt-Schumacher-Str. 1 in 50129 Bergheim-Glessen, Germany.
The BGM PRO SC Competition front shock absorber for Vespa is a further development of the successful BGM PRO F16 Sport series.
Optically, the Competition series differs from the previous one since it features an outer reservoir. The new front shock absorber for Vespa is available in black and silver as well as in a convenient set.
The outer reservoir of the shock absorber increases the compensation volume and therefore it offers a much better response. Also the damping adjusting range has been increased.
The bgm PRO SC Competition shock absorber has a modified basic set-up and hence it can also be perfectly used in combination with rigid sport springs.
The compression and rebound adjustment prevents the diving effect or the rapid extension when wheels pass over bumps.
As a result, this shock absorber is also perfect for more powerful vehicles.
The wide range of damping adjustments allows you to use this shock absorber also in combination with a standard spring and with the right damping adjustment you can still have a comfortable ride.
Buy here the new Competition Vespa shock absorber
Thanks to the optimised size, 165mm, this shock absorber perfectly fits also all 8-inch wheel models with no need to preload the spring or change the inclination of the fork link.
When mounted, the outer reservoir is covered by the mudguard and the front side of the Vespa keeps therefore its genuine look.
Like for the F16 Sport series, also this shock absorber is made of aluminium with hard-anodised finish, available in black and silver.
