LAMBRETTA

Today we first visited the hall 9 to have a look at the “new” Lambretta. Our friends from Rimini Lambretta Center present the new Lambretta customised for Vittorio in RLC race style as well as the new Casa Performance spare parts. Particularly interesting was the rear wheel rim with inner brake disc.

PINASCO

Vespa rod models with reed valve intake

For Wideframe/rod models (low headlight) Pinasco presented the Nordkapp cylinder with its new feature: the reed valve intake. Of course there is also an intake maniforld, this time not for a Polini CP carburettor, but for a Dell’Orto 22mm carburettor which Pinasco will offer with throttle lever.

Besides the genuine engine casing with three studs and the possible reed valve intake, as already showed at the Vespa world Days in Celle, Pinasco also presented the engine casing with four studs: thanks to this feature it is possibile to mount all PX 177 tuning cylinders.

In addition, Pinasco also presented the Zamak rotor for the Flytech ignition which fits the rod models (faro basso) and GS150 engines.

Vespa GS160/SS180

The GS160/SS180 cylinder with direct intake looked like a dual carburettor cylinder with oval/long holes for 200cc models.

Vespa Smallframe

For the Vespa Smallframe models Pinasco also presented the new Pinasco engine casings and the crankshafts which are not yet available. On display also further crankshats with replaceable balance weights.

Vespa Largeframe

Particularly interesting was the new crankshaft for double intake.

Pinasco offers now premounted 225cc engines. 60mm stroke, 225cc, 21,5PS at 26 NM. 10-13-17-20/35 gear cluster with 23/64 gear ratio. Flytech ingnition 1,4kg. The item does not include: carburettor, carburettor casing, clutch cover, flywheel cover and complete brake.

The Si28 carburettors are now in VRX-R version with a small foam filter.

Moto Nostra flyscreen with TÜV certificate for Vespa GTS

UPDATE GTS flyscreen

Our Vespa sports flyscreen has successfully passed all necessary TÜV tests.

The current model requires a frame, but since we prefer a flyscreen without frame, we decided to modify once again the material of the flyscreen.

The flyscreen will be only 1mm thicker and therefore no frame will be necessary. Since the thinner flyscreen has passed the TÜV material tests, we are pretty sure that also the new version will pass the necessary tests.

Moto Nostra flyscreen

Scooter Center presents its latest Moto Nostra flyscreen which will also have a certification for use on public roads. The new flyscreen fits the genuine braket for the Cruiser flyscreen but has a much more compact form than the Vespa sports flyscreen Cruiser.

The connection size on the side of the air filter is equal to 42 mm so that you can use the intake hose either with the genuine air filter box or with a foam air filter.

Increased start-up performance

Another significant advantage of the bgm PRO air intake hose is the drain system at the bottom of the intake hose: the fluid expelled from the carburettor does not accumulate in the hose and this prevents the idle speed system from clogging.

 

 

New bgm PRO Vespa brake hubs – from scooterists for scooterists

These Vespa bgm PRO brake drums have been developed by Scooter Center. While working on a project for the Vespa Wideframe Alex noticed that the brake hub required some improvements.

This lead to the development of a new brake drum, Made in Germany, made of strong material and with a top braking power. At the same time, we also developed the new brake drum for the Vespa V50 with 9 and 10 inch tyres. The performance of the new brake drums was successful, even in tough tests:

Please note: the brake drums are coated with an anti-corrosion oil. Before mounting the brake drum please remove any trace of oil (e.g. with a brake cleaner, see related items). Like all cast iron brake drums, these drums corrode if not protected and if exposed to moisture. In order to protect the outer surface of the brake drum you can use a heat-resistant exhaust paint.

Our Vespa GTS 300 demonstrator and catalogue

For more than 25 years we have been working on the supply and development of spare parts for the vintage Vespa. However, we also look to the future and don’t ignore the recent evolutions of the modern Vespa.

We bought our GTS 300 in 2008 and this is one of the ‘models’ used for our first modern Vespa catalogue.

Vespa GTS 300 Tuning Custom Demonstrator - Alle Teile mit Link 😎

Scooter Center left nothing untouched on the Vespa GTS demonstrator. Some changes are extremely subtle. Stand-out features include the handcrafted dropbar, the modified front mudguard and the sports seat. Further fine features of this Vespa are the fork, shortened by 4 cm, the 13’’ wheels and the Brembo brake system.

For our demo Vespa we chose the finest spare parts and accessories. The Brembo brake caliper kit P34 (2-piston caliper Ø 34 mm) improves braking when you ride with a pillion. Combining the caliper with the bgm PRO/SCR12 Competition shock absorbers, which are adjustable according to the needs of your riding style, and the wheel rim/tyre combination Heidenau K61 (140/60-13 on a wheel rim 3.5 x 13), you will get not only a facelift of your Vespa but also an improvement of its safety features.

BRAKES

The high-quality Brembo racing brake technology is now available with German TÜV-certification.
The brake kit mounted on our Vespa consists of a Brembo brake caliper with 4 pistons. The anodised black aluminium adapter was developed by Scooter Center and has a TÜV-certification.

If you want to appreciate the high performances of a top-quality brake system you do not need to test them on a racing vehicle. On standard scooters Brembo brake calipers also guarantee superb performance: high and well-modulated braking power.
Piston diameter 2 x 30 mm + 2 x 34 mm, two-piece, cast, CNC machined. High-tensile aluminium adapter, CNC machined, anodised black, TÜV-certification.

ONE-OFF PARTS OF THE SCOOTER CENTER VESPA DEMONSTRATOR

Drop bar / M-handlebar: the handlebar was manufactured by Scooter Center. The inclination was modified on both right and left side, the handlebar cover was made using more parts, adapted and painted.

Horn cover: Scooter Center’s own item handbuild by mixing parts of the Vespa GT and Primavera horn cover.

Mudguard: the design was adapted and recalls the classic design of the Vespa T5.

Fork: the length of fork was shortened by 4 cm in order to provide the GTS a sporty style.

BGM PRO Double Layer filter made by Marchald for Polini CP carburettors

Extra flat air filter specially designed for Polini CP carburettors. Available in two sizes:

With a thickness of only 30mm this filter is perfect for the Vespa Wideframe or tuned-up Lambretta.
The 55mm version is also a good option for the Vespa Smallframe.
The BGM filter has been specially developed for CP carburettors. The air filter rubber perfectly follows the shape of the carburettor and this prevents any risk of slippage.

The bell mouth perfectly fits the carburettor and has therefore a streamlined form. Thanks to the compact form and the high permeability of the filter material, this filter is the best option if you want to have a perfect air intake without having a power loss.

Polini CP carburettors

The Polini CP carburettors, characterised by their compact design, are very popular and widely used.

 

The CP carburettor can be used to replace the genuine carburettor of the Smallframe models or to get more power on Vespa and Lambretta engines: indeed, it is characterised by a compact design and therefore offers much better setup options than SHB carburettors.

bgm PRO / Marchald cooperation

We decided to cooperate with the Italian company Marchald, specialised in air filters, and to develop together what we consider the perfect air filter for the CP carburettors.

 

High quality and broad experience in air filter development

The high-quality rubber, which Marchald has used for years, can resist to steady mechanical stress and chemical exposure.

In order to ensure a perfect adherence and to prevent any risk of slippage, the rubber perfectly follows the shape of the carburettor.
Thanks to the two grooves in the rubber and the clamp (also included in the item) the air filter is stably fixed in its place.

Together with its bell mouth the rubber perfectly adapts to the special shape of the CP carburettor, a shape which increases the performance of the carburettor.

 

Air filter available in two sizes

Depending on place available to mount the filter, we have designed this air filter in two versions.

The length reported in the item description refers to the length of the filter once it has been mounted on the carburettor.

The BGM air filters fit all Polini CP carburettors from Ø17,5 to Ø24mm and are available in two sizes: 30mm and 55mm.

 

 

For Vespa Smallframe: 55mm air filter

The 55mm version is a good option for the Smallframe models. Even though the shock absorber is fully deflected, there’s still much space between the air filter and the chassis.

For Vespa Wideframe, Smallframe and Lambretta:

The 30mm version is particularly ideal for the Vespas Wideframe since they can be mounted even in small spaces.

With a length of only 30mm, this filter is short enough to prevent any crash or pressure against the carburettor flap.

 

 

If you use this filter on a Vespa Smallframe you’ll have much more space around the carburettor.

How to measure with precision the port timing of your 2-stroke engine?
So far the measurement of the port timing for Vespa, Lambretta & co. was a complex procedure, but now you can have a precise measurement thanks to our digital degree wheel -D.N. Performance 360° Port Timing Tool.

The new Port Timing Tool by D.N. Performance is very easy to use, suitable for fast every engine and with a degree of precision equal to 0,05°.

No more awkward setting up of the degree wheel, no parallax (reading error due to the side view), very quick and very precise!
Just fix the digital degree wheel to the engine casing and connect it to the crankshaft with a suitable socket wrench.

TIP: we also suggest you to use our dial gauge to measure the top dead centre.

Heidenau increases the speed index of Vespa tyres

Heidenau scooter tyres are now faster! At least “on paper”: for almost all tyres with size 3.50 – 10 Heidenau has increased the speed index from J (100km/h) to M (130km/h).

Of course you can use these tyres on your scooter even though the registration certificate shows the speed index “J”.
Standard tyres can always be replaced with tyres with better/higher indexes (speed and load index).

In this case faster=better!

Braking distance up to 20 % shorter

The braking distance of a Vespa GTS with a Brembo caliper is up to 20 % shorter in comparison with a standard caliper.

If you ride for the first time a Vespa GTS with a Brembo caliper you’ll immediately feel the outstanding braking power!

The Brembo caliper ensures a strong adherence between the tyres and road surface and, at the same time, allows you to finely regulate the braking power of your Vespa: both are essential features which make Brembo a reliable and high-quality brand since decades.

Now you have a good reason to mount Brembo calipers on your Vespa. So far there were no high-quality adapters for the Brembo Caliper with TÜV mark.

The adapter is available as single item or in a convenient set.  The caliper of the set belongs to the Brembo P4 series and is provided with four pistons (2x Ø30mm + 2x Ø34mm).

Development of the caliper adapter

The Brembo adapter is also known as “Peter-adapter” since it was developed by our friend Peter from the Austrian company “Peters Rollerteile”. we took over the project last year and we now offer the adaptors as “Scooter Center” item with TÜV mark.

Beware of cheap imitations with low quality. Only the original with the SC hologram!

Tips for the brake hose

The hose of the braking system can still be used. Loosen the brake hose from its original clips in order to relocate it. Alternatively we suggest you to use the Spiegler stainless steel hoses, somewhat longer and of high quality. The hoses are also available in black and with black anodised fixings. Please contact us for further details concerning the Spegler hoses: they’re available in many colours!
