Teste Cromate S.C., the local Lambretta Club, organised an awesome ride out in the soft hills in the region of Emilia Romagna on Sunday as a side program to the Rimini Lambretta Centre Open Day.
Entire video
You can find the video of the entire ride out beginning at the stop at Europlastsucci with GPS – measured speed display. Enjoy:
Yummy stopover
In a well organised corso of about 50 Lambrettas we reached our first interim goal after a few kilometres: Europlastsucci. An old customer and manufacturer of GRP frame sections and further Lambretta specialities.
In order to regain strength for the rest of our ride out and as as mental preparation for lunch we have an Aperitivo. After adjusting the tick-over rpm with Prosecco and other non-liquid refreshments we leave the city and cross the mountains in a great track.
Lambretta BSG Corse with 45HP and 305cc
Of course we have already had the opportunity to drive many extreme scooters. But Philipp’s scooter for the corso was a doozie:
BSG Corse Lambretta with 305cc cubic capacity and performance of more than 50 HP. The most violent we ever rode. CNC – engine block milled from one single piece, 305cc BSG Corse cylinder, Cyclone5 5 speed gearbox and BGM PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster has more than 50 HP. The demonstrator was downsized from 51HP to 45HP via ignition for the RLC Open Day.
First impression:
The beast has instant throttle control and within a blink of the eye you exceeded 100km/h. Thanks to BGM PRO SUPERSTRONG clutch, switching gears is clear, easy and very smooth, the 5 speed gearbox perfectly transferred. Power without limits and pressure in every gear.
Lambretta with a high amount of performance
The CNC engine has a crankshaft with wide crank webs. In order to securely transfer the performance of the 305cc cylinders to the street, the proven components BGM PRO shock absorbers and BGM silent blocks are used for the wheel suspension. Due to the enormous cubic capacity the exhaust is large. However its distance to the ground is sufficient for it to not put down on the street, even in hairpin bends. A vehicle of such a high performance also needs a strong braking system. RLC uses a a MMW disc brake.
There is a high amount of performance in this engine, so it doesn’t come unexpected that the frame hits its limits, since the original engine offers only a fifth of performance when being compared to the BSG Corse engine
Thanks to Dean Orton for this amazing experience! And thanks to Teste Cromate S.C. for this beautiful day!
Scooter Center trip to Italy – Part 1 Rimini Lambretta Centre
The Scooter Center-Team on a trip to Italy: Last weekend Oliver, Philipp and Heiko started their trip to Italy. They had a tight schedule, but the long way had to pay off: during the weekend they covered more than 3,000 km.
Stops during their trip to Italy:
Rimini Lambretta Centre 20th Anniversary Open Day / Rimini
Rimini Lambretta Centre 20th Anniversary Open Day / Rimini
Following in the tracks of the history of Scooter Center by the Lago di Garda
Video of the first leg
Lake Garda was the first interim target. We visited old friends, enjoyed Italy and wallowed in memories. In its 23 years of the history of Scooter Center Lake Garda plays a crucial role.
Back then, Oliver Kluger bought the very first scooter for Scooter Center and transported it to Germany. The Scooter was a Vespa Rally TS 125. Later, the Vespa was processed in Cologne and resold to Volker, who is still driving it today. He was our first customer and naturally sticks to us. You rather know us for a quick delivery of spare and tuning parts for scooters. However, we currently have several used Vespa scooters on offer.
The night was short and the journey continued early on Saturday morning, heading to Rimini. The track to travel sounds like music to our ears: “Verona, Mantova, Modena, Bologna, Imola, Rimini”. Our anticipation grows, the closer we get to our destination.
The 5 speed Lambretta gearbox is more than a mere part of a scooter to Dean. You know this once you saw the CYCLONE 5 tattoo on his forearm. We mainly supply BGM products to RLC, which are used for their restorations. Lambretta restorations are the main business of Dean Orton and his team. RLC loves and lives Lambretta. Overwhelming Lambretta scooters are created in an impressive garage. Our anticipation and expectations were immense and we should not be disappointed.
Rimini in the region of Emilia Romagna
“Rimini: the Adriatic, centre of beach tourism – a seaside resort with a long tradition, beach, sun, sea.” But we had more important things to do! Our destination was the Zona Industriale: The 20th anniversary and Open Day of Rimini Lambretta Centre.
After a heart warming welcome by many old friends, we started to put up our stall. This was quickly accomplished, since Philipp had sent the products we wanted to display to a wrong address… :-) Luckily we were allowed to display products from the RLC stocks.
Rimini Lambretta Centre Open Day
The grounds around the RLC were quickly filled with mainly Italian and English Lambrettisti. There were overall 500 visitors with about 120 Lambrettas and only a handful of Vespas.
Dean really dished up for the 20th anniversary of RLC. Entering the shop you were welcomed by a world record Lambretta: The fully faired Lambretta that broke the 200 km/h limit on August 8th, 1951. Romolo Ferri set the world record on a motorway that was blocked from traffic between Ingolstadt and Munich. The mechanically supercharged 125cc engine is told to have had about 21 HP.
A huge transportable pizzeria supplied finest specialities from the region including sufficient wine, water, beer and coffee.
Overwhelming Lambretta test drive
RLC had managed to have a circuit blocked from traffic, so that you were able to test drive the scooters within the industrial estate.
Alongside scooters, which have been restored by RLC, there were mainly scooters from the Casa Lambretta collection available for test rides. The two Lambretta Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes were at the centre of attention. In the past months these were restored by RLC for Vittorio Tessera. The June edition of Scooteringwill present the restoration of the interior of the engines. We also did a test ride on the Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. We can only say: Too sad they didn’t make it into serial production.
Lambretta with 305cc and 50HP
305cc and more than 50HP – the most violent scooter we ever rode: BSG CasaPerformance 305cc prototype. CNC engine block with 305cc BSG cylinder, Cyclone5 5 speed gearbox and BGM PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster has more than 50 HP. The Lambretta’s programmable ignition was downsized to 45 HP for the test drives. On our cruise on Sunday we were able to extensively test it. The fitting video will follow in the second part of this article. Watch this space!
BSG Corse brought scooters with overwhelming performance. Vespa Smallframes were those scooters that chased around the circuit with immense revs. These were later joint by the legendary Signore Angelo Zirri and almost the entire Smallframe tuning scene.
Even the greatest events have to come to an end. So at some stage we had to dismantle everything. But luckily we still had a joint tea and nighter with a fantastic view on the mountains left!
Nighter in the mountains in the region of Emilia Romagna
The joint meal and all-nighter took place in an Osteria in the mountains. A fantastic site with view on the lights of Rimini and San Marino in the distance.
Many kind talks, many Italian snacks and some cups of wine later we fell into our beds in the early hours of morning. It was a short night with only a little relaxation. Only several hours later we were meant to get to the next highlight. On the cruise we were able to test the 305cc prototypes for their fitted BGM parts.

On April, 18th 2015 the AVR – Altblech Vespa Ruhrgebiet, a local scooter club, organizes its season opening in Essen.
Just as for the season closing 2014 last year, the entire proceeds will be donated to a social organisation. Last year, 1,050 Euros were donated to the Kinderhospiz Regenbogenland, a children’s hospice, in Düsseldorf.
This year’s donations will go to Friedensdorf in Oberhausen, which flies in children from war or crisis areas and then provides medical care. This association is merely funded by donations, without contributions by the state. Therefore every Euro counts!
Agenda:
11 am start
1 pm auction
2 pm official end
The event begins at 11 am. It officially ends at 2 pm.
At 1 pm there will be an auction of awesome, astounding things! Furthermore there will be a raffle with more than 100 prices (no blanks).
Vibrant classic scooter community in the Ruhr district
Many drivers, but also clubs from the region are supporting the AVR. Amongst others,
Schaltroller Freunde Meiderich from Duisburg,
Vesparados from Dortmund,
Vespartisanen from Bochum,
Scooterboys Gelsenkirchen and
Düsselvespen
will take part in the event. You see, the classic scooter community in the Ruhr district is vibrant and active! Scooter Center supports the season opening in Essen! So raid your piggy bank and support the AVR in Essen.

Jetsons Lambretta Club 25th Silver Special Anniversary
14.-16.8.2014 in Paderborn
Jetsons Lambretta Club celebrates this year their 25th anniversary. One thing should be clear to anyone who knows the Jetsons: it will be vigorously celebrated. While the tanks are empty from time to time, here the glasses are always half full. Celebrated from August 14th until 16th in the founding city of Paderborn.
In the heart of East Westphalia, the local hospitality offers great conversations with drunks at the bar, genuine Westphalia cuisine (curry sausage with French fries and other dead animals from the grill), and, of course, the sheet metal geared scooter enthusiasm is the top priority! Invited are of course all Lambretta riders, all Vespa riders, all Carsuckers and also the riders/inside from all strange vehicles.
Win a Lambretta
As a special highlight, the Jetsons have planned to raffle a beautifully restored and fully functional Lambretta 125 series 2 from Switzerland.
Jetsons Original Track:
The Jetsons Lambretta Club will raffle a genuine, technically restored, roadworthy Lambretta on Saturday night. With little luck, one of you, who arrived here riding on Vespa, will have a change to ride back home on a Lambretta! One could not turn melancholy into a happy life easier and faster.Jetsons Lambretta Club
In a highly conspirative meeting with Hansi, the deal was sealed. The Jetsons draw another deep shelf in the bgm and pimp engine, suspension, electrics. We have made parts available from Casa Lambretta for the restoration of the Lambretta. The results can now be seen here and the progress of the project will be presented in the coming weeks.
Tickets can be purchased everywhere, where the Lambretta is on display, whether in Custom Shows or scooter meetings and, of course, at the Silver Special Anniversary!
The first appointment will be in Kalkar at the SCOOTERIST MELTDOWN! Since our stand is side by side with the Jetsons, we are ready to answer questions about everything you might have in your mind. We are looking forward to it!

On March 21, 2015, we start the eighth International Scooter Center Customshow for Classic and Automatic Scooter in Cologne.
Scooter Customshow 2015
The history of the Scooter Center Customshows goes way back in time. Before we moved to the stunning location of AbenteuerHallenKALK, we already had organized Customshows outdoors for over 10 years. As part of our legendary Opendays event in front of the Scooter Center Store in Bergheim. These Customshows were at that time not nearly as large as today’s show – but the spirit was all the same!
We have always had awesome scooters on the show. The scooters have been lovingly remodeled with great creativity and technical skill with infinite amount of time and often with a lot of money used for really hot Customscoots. Blatant finishes, gold, chrome. Airbrush, colorful, longer, shorter, higher, deeper, louder and usually faster than the police permits or extremely rare and much older than the owners themselves. This is a diverse custom scene. PURE SCOOTERING
We all meet once a year in Cologne SCOOTERSHOW – the International Scooter Customshow in Cologne. The scooter changes, were have added many new scooters there. Many Custom projects have undergone a veritable evolution and were gradually further developed. Other legendary custom scooters are retrieved from the basement and remember today the wild beginnings of the Classic Scooterscene of the 80’s and 90’s.
The Real Heroes
Classic Scooter & Automatic Scooter. Vespa, Lambretta – Streetracer, Leiter, Dragscoot, Cupracer, Streesleeper, Speedfight, Aerox and Co – the true heroes are the ones who stand behind the scooters!
This ye are, that you are, and we really appreciate it! We plan and organize now and already looking forward to a great Customshow.
We look forward seeing you at the SCOOTERSHOW’15 on 21.03.2015 in Cologne.
In addition to the exhibition of scooters, there is a lot to see and to experience. In Cologne, the scooter scene will hit the season start. The Scooter Center and bgm will have new Scootertuning products on display and bargain-hunters will, again, find there many large and small parts stands. And, of course, a delicious buffet is also provided.
As great as the similarities are – also the music often share the spirits. We’ve learned a lot and in the 2015 event, we therefore are providing two separate halls with music – 2 Floors.
Vespa Raid Maroc 2014: The hardest Vespa race in the world!
This year was the third time for the Vespa Raid in Morocco. A six-day race over mountains and across the desert. But always winding pistes and slalom through football sized boulders and other obstacles.
In addition to the absolute physical fitness, that the driver must have, the achieved average speed counts less than the navigation skills. Because only with the successful drive through all the check points you will get the highest score.
Sticky on bgm PRO indestructible stainless steel rims through the desert
For all the rivalry between the teams, the atmosphere of fair play and great helpfulness to each other is practiced. The biggest battle is against the adversities of the nature and not against the fellow racers.
Ferran, one of the organizers, made available for Sticky a pink Vespa PX on the road to enable him to expand his broad portfolio of racetracks. The Vespa PX is well prepared for this type of race and has proven itself in three desert racing seasons. Including the 2011 Pan-Africa Rally, which is the inspiration for the Morocco Rally organizer.
I used the BGM rim on the front wheel for 5 days and on the rear for the last two days, Initially I worried that the rear tyre might spin on the smooth rim and rip the valve out when running at low pressures, but it never did. On day 6 I rode to the checkpoint with a deflating front tyre on a BGM rim, but despite hitting some big rocks the rim was still fine when I changed the tube. The lip on the outer edge of the rim is much thicker and stronger than standard. Changing tyres and tubes with these stainless split rims is a lot easier than with loose paint and rusty steel or with tubeless wheels. If the BGM rims prove reliable in the long term then you’d expect every tyre change to be this easy.” Sticky
Despite of health problems (which may have had an impact on his top decking passion), he pulls up to 200 km per day on the Vespa.
Especially shock absorbers, rims and tires and the fragile engine housing are in danger to get permanently damaged or completely destroyed. In this picture the nice looking original black standard rim did not stand the stress:
On day 5 it is so far and Sticky get a puncture and broken navigator holder on mixed terrain. The navigator holder is replaced by gaffer tape and the original Piaggio Vespa rims are replaced by the bgm PRO stainless steel rims. The right decision! Not only stable, but also beautiful, the new bgm PRO stainless steel rims – who still needs chrome rims?
In contrast to the completely deformed and wavy rims, our standard bgm stainless steel rims presents themselves at the end of the race still like new and in non-dented condition!

10-h Scootentole endurance scooter racing in Magny Cours
The third endurance, organized by the Association Scootentole and Retro Scooter Nivernais on the long Club track of Magny Cours , entered a new phase:
34 teams at the start,
some 130 pilots of
six different nationalities.
The principle : Start on sunday morning at 9:00, finishing 10 hours later. The first under the checkered flag wins. Simple!
Nice weather , beautiful track , the event is full of promises. Qualifying on Saturday saw the “official teams” confrontation during which , the 225SS Casa Lambretta steals the pole to the swift ” full Quattrini ” liquid cooled Vespa . Right behind , the Team Burzock LML PX 215 Pinasco engine created a surprise by beating the Squadra Corse MitoLambretta (AF Rayspeed RB20 ) and the german Dart Racing Team PK 150 Polini Evo…
On sunday, to the delight of drivers and spectators, right from the beginning of the race, started a track battle wich opposed the best Lambrettas against the best Vepas. On the Lambretta side, within the first hour, the Casa Lambretta boys had a broken crankshaft, while the MitoLambretta Rayspeed AF were still at the forefront, and the Lambretta-Authentik (RT195 MB Dev) was holding the 4th place … before breaking his exhaust. Seems Like Vespas were going to win the fight this year !
Vespa Pugenti Corsa Quattrini leaded ??the race from start to the finish, tremendous for a first participation! For the second place, the battle for the podium between four opponents, saw the Germans of the Dart Racing take the advantage over the French LML-Pinasco-Burzock (third and first largeframe), followed by the Spanish PK Racing Rolando Quattrini, and the Italian team of MitoLambretta. Ranked during a time in the top 5, the PK of SPRT (Quattrini), the PK of PRT-Korona (Falc), the PX Authentik (210 Malossi) and Old Scoot Racing (Parmakit 177), and the small Pinasco VSP21, due to falls or mechanical problems, were forced to back down into the rankings. … Despite the long track (tough for engines) and the hot sun, most teams classified in the first part of the ranking table, were those who experienced no major mechanical problems !
As previous years, this event went perfectly well, and what a pleasure to see the joy of the teams who managed to cross the finish line. This race is already a classic. The organizers hope that, a probable extension of the grid to 45 teams would make things even more exciting! See you next year !

It was a great edition of the now classic Challenge Scootentole Mirecourt, 2014 ESC season opening, where the best vintage scooter drivers from Europe gathered together on the long weekend of the 31st of May.
TAKING A CORNER WITH 135km/h ON A VESPA
About 120 riders had registered, and most of them arrived as early as Thursday to start training on the track.
Speaking of which, the novelty for 2014 was a new high-speed curve before the straight line. This configuration change allowed some of the fastest drivers to go as fast as 135km/h !
With light rain showers on the Friday, the weather improved along the week-end and the Saturday was a great day for racing, with no severe accident, on a dry track.
LADY RACING
t should be noted that the girl-class (C7/K7) had 13 participants and the C2S/K5 had 39 drivers !!
LUCKY DRAW
After the podium, the lucky-draw sponsored by SCK, and the famous “apero”, Saturday night party was improvised at the last minute and proved again to be a great way to have people binding together.

Mirecourt, France, ESC 2013 season opening and 13th Challenge Scootentole, 155 drivers decided to write history !
All categories was reasonably packed for fair action and good fun !
Most people arrived on Thursday while some hard-core drivers took advantage of the privileged relationship we have with the circuit of Mirecourt to arrive as soon as Wednesday !! Thursday and Friday, the track was available for practice. Unfortunately this is on that day that we had a big accident seeing a driver breaking is leg. Season did not even start for him… Too bad ! The weather was cold, changing with a bit of rain from time to time.
On the next day, Saturday the day of the actual Challenge Scootentole, we arbitrary splited the two C2S qualification sessions in the morning in order to even chances for a good time.
From there, everything went very smoothly and we could see beautiful and fair racing, well helped by the weather; it actually did not rain during any of the sessions, only at lunch break !! With little surprise, the usual masters of the track trusted the first places in K1 and K2, but new comers are starting to push hard, like the young Romain Baguet from Team 70s scooter who finished 3rd in K4 and 1st in K5 ! The K7 category, girlz power, driving with the K6 and the slowest of the K5, the grid was filled up with 13 girls, a very promising number for the rest of the season !
It should be mentioned that every year the level of preparation and the quality of all scooters is improving. This was still true in 2013, with beautiful teams and scooter that actually looks like scooters (cuts are restricted to a minimum in the Challenge Scootentole).
On the oddities side, it was interesting to see in action in K2 the French V5A frame #216 from Julien Desnuelle, driven by Olivier Doussot (both from SPRT team ) the first racing vespa fitted with an electronic injection (Keep an eye on it: Vespa Tuning M1L Quattrini Vespa without Carb ) !
We also saw an official LML 4T Corsa (166 Polini) in demonstration in the K6/K8 sessions. Not so fast as expected, but some people seemed very interested by the potential of the tubular chassis…
During the award ceremony and lucky draw we could hand-over some very nice gifts and presents thanks to our sponsors, and especially Scooter Center!
After that, helped with a little “apero”, most of the people started to relax and the party lasted long on the campsite until very late !

This is a M1L Quattrini Smallframe racing – Vespa from France without any carburetor.
M1L Quattrini means, this Vespa engine is tuned with this cylinder kit: Quattrini M1L.
“without any carburetor”? YES!
The guys from SPRT Racing put a elctronic 2-stroke direct injection CORRECTION: Julien mailed us: “Direct injection” means that the injector is on the cylinder head. This is not our case. indirect injection on the Smallframe Vespa from Julien Desnuelle.
In addition:
The cylinder is an old M1L 2008, the one with the tiny reeds. It is associated to full circle Mazu crank for ETS, Vespatronic ignition and Franz exhaust : that’s a really small set-up for a K2!
The carb has been changed for a 28mm throttle body with butterfly.
Watch the racing scooter with the M1L Quattrini in action on the Scootentole Mirecourt track.
Driver: Olivier Doussot, SPRT Team.
