Vespa Happy Black 125 cc

owner: Dana Zinnen
Motor: Original 125 cc
Exhaust : JL Scorpion with E-Norm
Remodeling time: about 1 year

Story behind it:
It was supposed to be an everyday vehicle that a 16-year-old could use to drive to her training. "Unfortunately," the project escalated a little during the restoration phase.
But who is surprised with the father?

I made the journey from Ulm to visit you with my friends from Aachen, Michael Zinnen & Michael Zocher.
This was a rather spontaneous action, which is why Sprint was allowed to ride in the car.
Otherwise, she enjoys traveling under her own steam, as evidenced by over 20.000 kilometers in just over 2 years.
Our destinations were the Alps, but also the Vosges, the Black Forest, Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore, France in the form of the Route des Grandes Alpes and many other countries and places.
Next will be Sardinia from September 28.09th.
Curious?

Cristian Gigliotti

Has been in my possession since the age of 16
It was bought in 1989 by my father's work colleague for 500 DM (200cc scooter, converted to an 80cc engine, but the engine stayed in 😂 )
Since then, everything has happened to me.
Was red when purchased and was immediately repainted in winter camouflage
Afterwards it was repainted in yellow to become a post roller (with a post horn on the cheeks), about 1 year ago.
Then came the camouflage paint job and the first frame changes in 1994.
To this day, it has been continually refined and has ultimately 29 PS on the rear wheel (and everything registered)
Several milled parts were made by me and my friend
The scooter has not seen rain for the last 25 years and has already been on the Alpendays and several meetings.
He has passed many checks by the race management on the road.

Franziska

Hello dear ScooteCenter team,

My name is Franziska Biesen and I turned 3 years old three weeks ago.
Starting with the Roller-I started riding at almost two years old. I'm already too big for my Chicco scooter and I can't ride around outside with the rocking scooters...
I have been riding a Vespa for over a year and have always enjoyed attending meetings and events. I have been to your events several times.
Riding a Vespa was something I was born into. After all, my mom and dad have been in the scooter scene for 30 years and met there 26 years ago.
On Saturday you took some great photos of me and my scooter. Thank you so much for that!
I'm looking forward to attending your next event again!

Best regards,

Your Franziska

VM1T 125

I bought the Faro Basso (VM1T) from 1953 in May '22 and completely restored it. Unfortunately, the floor panel had to be re-welded because the previous owner had not repaired it professionally. The Vespa was painted in the original color Grigio 15048. The side panels and headlights are made of aluminum. The Pinasco 160cc cylinder, a Pinasco racing shaft, a 12V Pinasco Flytech ignition, a modified primary gear ratio and a CP23 Polini carburettor. It is coupled with a Cosa2 clutch. It ensures beautiful driving bgm PRO SC/R1 Sport shock absorber. The original Italian letter (blue booklet) from 1953 from the first owner is still there.

Motovespa 150S 2nd series year 64

The Spanish bike, also known as the Fat One (Motovespa 150S 2nd series, built in 64 with the original direct-suction engine) has already been through a small odyssey and is the epitome of “good things come to those who wait”.
I bought it online in Alicante in May 2020 after Dani from Voyenvespa.com had agreed to look at the scooter on site. Picking up the scooter myself in a timely manner was not possible because of Corona. Transport by freight forwarder was never an option, however. So Dani parked the big one until I drove to Alicante with my mother in my parents' van in September 2021 to collect her. When she arrived in Cologne, she was given a nice spot in my living room - after all, she was Spanish and only used to nice weather. And there she stood for a while... She didn't get her MOT until March 1,5 and it would take almost another year until she finally had German papers (thanks to Tazz and Anes for your support). Tazz has currently installed a replacement engine with 2023cc for me and I mainly drive it when the weather is nice. The future plans are: switch back to the original engine and make it faster and see what color is hidden under the paint.

Vespa Special

The Italian Vespa Special (model year 80) is my very first Vespa and I bought it here in Germany 7 years ago. It was originally 50cc, had whitewall tires and some chrome parts, so it was very classic, and that's how I drove it at the beginning. But after a short time the 50cc was not enough for me, so I converted to 75cc. And as we all know, after a certain time even that is no longer enough and you want more. Further conversions to 102cc, 133cc, 136cc and finally to 144cc followed. I gained a lot of experience with this Vespa because I tried out all kinds of exhaust systems, carburettors and engine setups. I quickly became fascinated with the subject of Vespas and tinkering, I read up on it, got informed and eventually took the step to tinker more intensively with other Vespas and not just my own. The carburetor tuning definitely drove me to despair. I spent two years tinkering with it until I was really happy with it. Then I installed a lambda sensor and the fun started all over again. With the current engine and tuning, the Special has now done over 2 km and it is definitely my most reliable Vespa.
There are 3 things I particularly like about the Vespa:
1. The unusual color – in the light it looks very light, but in the dark it looks very dark.
2. The sun clutch. At that time there was only the bgm Super strong, but no other that could transfer so much power and yet was so easy to pull. 5 years ago I discovered the Sonne clutch in the GSF and have been completely satisfied ever since.
3. The Falk-R Ares exhaust. Its performance and workmanship were impressive across the board. Not exactly cheap, but as the saying goes: quality has its price.

Piaggio Rennbravo

Actually it was supposed to be an old school project with a double carburettor (stuff still available, will come again when, because stuff from the 80s and 90s too) but then I came across a bundle with the Polini H2O and decided on it first, which is what I wanted back then already have.
In terms of spare parts, it looks pretty bad for such old stuff, for example cylinder head gasket, where I met an Italian through a Facebook group who makes his own gaskets specifically for this and still has a lot of nice things from that time.
Hoses and other little things in blue, should mentally go to Polini ☺️
The rims are also completely rebuilt, hi even wider with an Eastern moped rim, because the hub diameter is the same as the Piaggio spoke rims.
The saddle was made by the local saddler, the gold of the Piaggio lettering is the same as the gold of the rim hubs.
Not everything is old school, but I prefer the tires, brake levers and controls to be more modern.

Veybach Racing

The Violet Pearl Ciao is Veybach Racing's own moped and actually came about by chance 😂

When considering a new project, we were inspired by the Pulverdesign Gibesch in chic candy blackberry powdered Grimeca Avio rims. And when looking for a suitable contrasting color, the first choice was signal white. But since that seemed too boring to us, we decided to refine it with pearl violet. Now the color gradient varies from simple white to a shiny, light violet.
Of course, numerous details were also incorporated here, such as violet anodized aluminum rosettes for all screws.
The side panels received the Veybach Racing typical pressure fasteners to ensure quick disassembly. Also typical is the lowering at the front, which significantly improves the driving behavior and prevents the "annoying" rebound when braking.
To ensure that the driver sits appropriately, the original seat was covered with fine Mercedes artificial leather and provided with a color-coordinated seam.

The engine was a Polini speed engine installed, whose channels are connected to the Malossi 46.5 cylinder The crank mechanism uses the proven Mazzuchelli 002 and reliably delivers the mixture of 16 Dellorto SHA carburetors into the combustion chamber. The exhaust gases escape via the well-known Gianelli Fire.

Dirk Hövelmann

Piaggio Bravo

The Bravo belongs to Frank Reiff and was rebuilt by Veybach Racing on his behalf in early 2024.

To achieve a more dynamic look, the rear was shortened and an LED taillight was installed in a carbon carrier in the frame tube.
The mudguards have also been significantly shortened and “gutted” so that they can fit almost “skin-tight” over the 2 3/4 -16 ContiGo.
To continue the sporty look, the original headlight was replaced with the Superbravo version, and the headlight mask was also rebuilt. The original speedometer carrier was completely removed and remodeled with carbon plates. The Runleader tachometer now fits in almost seamlessly.

Racing Blue Pearl from Ford was chosen as the colour. As a contrast, the rims and tank struts were given a Candy Red, which was Pulverdesign Gibesch was applied in top quality.

Of course, the saddle was not neglected either and received a new skin made of synthetic leather, which fits into the overall concept with its blue and black carbon look and color-coordinated seams.

In addition, numerous details were added during the renovation, which catch the eye every time you look at it.

Of course, the Bravo also received a corresponding engine. Veybach Racing installed a Malossi Reed Valve housing, to which a 46.5 Malossi cylinder was adapted. An Italkit full-circle shaft was installed in the crank drive.
The whole thing is fed via a 16 Dellorto SHA carburetor and the exhaust gases pass through a Simonini Proline back outside.

Vespa PX 80 Lusso with 177cc engine

This year I have owned the Vespa for 10 years. The 80 engine was swapped for a 125 block and with a Polini 177cc cylinder, Malossi membrane, Mazzucchelli racing shaft and a 30 Dellorto carburettor refined. The results of the tuning are constant 18 PS.
After a crash with the PX, I also started modifying the optics. This gave the Vespa a PX Alt look, hump seat, drop handlebars, disc brake, short-stroke throttle grip and a new paint job.
I'm exactly right with the renovation Scooter Center Open Day finished and had a nice trip from Koblenz.

Vespa T4

I bought the T4 in the colour “Indian Bamboo” in 2016 as my second scooter after re-entering the scooter scene. Before that I had bought a PX like the one I had in the 2s and the access to the scene awakened my desire for older scooters. After the T80 I bought two more Smallframe (round light) and an Acma and a VB1T. So there is no chance of getting bored...

The T4 was available in luxury and basic, I have the basic version with 3 speeds, but the chrome trim on the cheeks that the luxury model actually had.

Inexperienced as I was, I bought the T4 "restored". That means that after the purchase we had to completely replace both the engine and the bearing seats in the steering head. But the original engine remained in it. I drove it from 2017-2022, with a 177 DR (on 2 channels). It had just under 10 hp and ran completely trouble-free. I always took the T4 on vacation with the PX, so it has already done a lot of kilometers with me.

Last winter the engine was from Andreas Nagy Has been reworked, has had a 3rd channel milled and a 190 Pinasco Magny Cours on long stroke. I put it to the test for the first time at your Open Day. I'm not completely satisfied with the performance yet, it's only 13 HP, but at 16,6 NM. I hope a little more can be done to improve the carburettor tuning.

Technically I have completely overhauled the scooter. In addition to all the standards and conversion to 12V, the scooter was mainly built with BGM components. Hence that too BGM under the lettering on the leg shield ;) The engine was classic BGM-Stuff built. 187 cylinder, long stroke shaft, 26 Si carburettor, Superstrong, 65/23 gear ratio and box exhaust. Chassis too BGM. Drives very nicely.

Since then, the scooter has accompanied me very reliably in everyday life, as well as on some tours with my boys from Flatliners SC

Bajaj Chetak

It's a Bajaj Chetak from '84. The beautiful one with trapeze handlebars and actually quite rare in this condition (even if it's usually described as "just an Indian").
I got the scooter a few years ago from a nice gentleman from Cologne. The Bajaj was imported via Hamburg in '84 and was driven by the gentleman for a few years when he was the first owner.

I deliberately did not "dress up" the scooter as a Vespa Sprint, but left it as a Bajaj. Only a few things had to be adjusted for visual reasons.

It was brought from France 2 years ago and then completely taken apart. Everything was cleaned and the paint was kneaded, cleaned, sanded, polished and sealed.

Italy, Dolce Vita and Vespa touring and cornering paradise

My Tuscany Vespa tour was planned. Before that there was a visit to Scooter Center on the plan.

I got a few spare parts and stored them in the one I newly designed Vespa Bags

and was able to set off towards home with my Vespa VNB, built in 1961, without any worries.

In beautiful weather, I drove past many towns on my Vespa and felt happy and free.
When I arrived at the top of the Gotthard Pass, I was already a third of the way through my journey.
Italy wasn't far away. The smell of freshly baked cornetti and freshly brewed coffee lured me into an espresso bar. This scent cannot be described in words.

As a child I would probably have said, “This is what happiness must smell like.”
Of course a second Cornetto found mine Vespa Bag Place.

I drove on towards the sun through the idyllic hills, the pine and cypress-lined country roads of my Tuscany, past magnificent villas and old castles.
In front of me was a beautiful landscape characterized by olive trees and vineyards from which top wines such as olive oil are made.

The leaning tower of Pisa was already visible and the silhouettes of other famous cities such as Florence and Siena slowly appeared one after the other.

Now I had arrived at my destination. I strapped mine Vespa Bag from the leg shield of my beloved classic car and took it with me.

P200E

Bought a year ago in Augsburg, it had been deregistered and stood in a barn for 22 years.
Purchase price 2022 (€250)
You only get lucky like that once and my lucky find was an original P200E outer jaw 200cc in O-lacquer

Everything was redone over the winter, the paint was sanded, polished and sealed several times to preserve everything. Completely turned inside out and every screw replaced.
Accordingly, the engine was optimized and more power was added.

Simson scooter SR50

Here's the little story
I used to drive a Zündapp Hercules and a Victoria when I was younger and always had fun tinkering
The screw shop then moved into the automotive industry
In his 21st year, my good friend had an SR50 Simson that was not in good condition and he wanted to build it, but he then bought another SR50 in better condition...and I took over the other SR50
That's what happened in the evening conversation (typical buddy; come on, let's rebuild both SR50s 😝.
Said and done …
The scooters were completely dismantled,
All parts sandblasted,
And all parts that were still usable were repainted/powdered
Then it was time to rebuild all the screws, rubber wear parts, wiring harness lights and were replaced... The engine was completely disassembled and overhauled with new and old parts
On September 09.2023, 50, an SRXNUMX was ready except for stickers and running in the new parts
I then traveled to your lovely meeting with 4 other people from Limburg Weilburg with 3 mopeds to be seen again
It was originally built except for the indicators, paint and the engine was converted to 60cc
Greetings 👋

I am Heiko Froese, owner of HT Motors (HTPARTS.EU), born 1980 in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. My passion for mopeds and motorbikes was there when I was still in diapers but took serious shape from the age of 14. My first moped was a Puch Maxi, which I liked to drive, but I soon tweaked more than driving it. It wasn't so much because it was always broken, but because I just wanted to get more performance out of it.

The mopeds, scooters and manual mopeds that followed never drove the specified factory speed 😊. From the age of 16 I worked in my parents' garage or in a client's backyard. My customer base grew through word of mouth from friends and acquaintances in Dordrecht and the surrounding area, advertising on the Internet led to a customer base throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

At the age of 21 I took part in the 150m scooter sprint for the first time and immediately got a 5th place. I wanted to have my engine and cylinder tuned and I went to Freddy Koopmans with my story of being the fastest in the Netherlands. He then immediately said that this was not feasible.

I left my things lying around and in the days that followed I kept thinking that Freddy said it couldn't be done. But I wanted it so badly that I picked up my things and started "tuning" it myself. And so it all began on the coffee table in my 40m2 apartment with the familiar Dremel.

Of course, not everything happened by itself, but in the following years I developed more and more knowledge and skills, which I and later my driver and good friend Henk van den Heuvel (Henk from the Hill DSSC) used to achieve many titles and records with the scooter sprint won.

HT - Parts maxi scooters

In the years that followed, the company grew with customers all over the world. In 2018, HT Engineering started shifting from tuning, overhaul and maintenance to the development and production of maxiscooter, moped and classic car parts. The focus is mainly on the production of Plug and play quality products for the road, all made in the Netherlands.

Now, 4 years later, we find that most of our orders come from abroad and no longer from the Netherlands where we are based. Mainly customers from Europe, mainly from Germany, Italy, UK, Austria and Spain, but also from New Zealand, United States, Mexico, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Maarten etc.

We manufacture CNC turned and milled parts in series for customers and colleagues at home and abroad, although we want to focus more and more on business-to-business sales from 2023.

In addition to some other international providers, this also has Scooter Center our products in theirs Webshop recorded.

I would like to thank you for this Scooter Center and especially to Michael, Daniel, Alex, Uwe and Frank!

Sincerely yours,
Heiko

Engine swing arm Piaggio Maxi, Gilera Runner

Engine swing arm Piaggio Maxi engines Gilera Runner and Co.

Good news for performance fetishists and lovers of the Piaggio automatic two-stroke engines.

We have ours for you bgm PRO swingarm to reinforce the motor housing further developed, optimized and in a new design have it manufactured:

Swingarm BGM PRO Superstrong Piaggio 125-180 cc 2-stroke BGM7900N

BGM7900N (4)

The legendary bgm PRO motor swing arm

bgm pro swing arm

The idea for this swing arm originally came about when we were setting up our shop demonstrator. Especially for that 50PS strong twin a sensible reinforcement had to be attached to the motor housing.

Instructions for use

So that the swing arm can also find a way to your engine to protect the very rare, large Piaggio two-stroke engines; As with the previous version, a few things must be observed:

  • fits Piaggio 125-180 engines with disc brakes
  • Exhaust bracket on the engine housing needs to be machined
  • Exhaust systems must be adapted for assembly

Easy construction

First the motor housing has to be adjusted. The easiest way to do this is to create a gap with a screw that is turned through the holder from behind of 5mm "set".

To be on the safe side, you should try the swingarm assemble and measure, if these parallel to the surface runs on the Vario lid. Shortening around at least 5mm is usually always required. However, the dimension can also vary depending on the composition of the components and up to 10mm be.

Fasten the rear wheel

That used double row self-aligning ball bearings tolerates a slight twist / misalignment of a maximum of 5 °. In order to attach the rear wheel, longer screws are included with the swing arm, which should be mounted with screw locking.

Safety note

The swing arm is only designed for tough use in tuning and racing.

There are a large number of variations of the hub, rim and motor housing on the market.
We therefore ask you to use all of the parts during assembly very carefully to check for the fit and the final Assembly very carefully to execute.

BMC / RH Scooter Cup 2011
Final Harzring October 29.10.2011, XNUMX

After an 8-week break from racing, it was time to go to the Harzring at the end of October Grand final of the BMC / RH-Scooter Cup 2011.

Thanks to good placements in the current season, I've got one 23 points ahead worked out on Federico Torsiello, whom I naturally wanted to defend there. The goal was clear - to become champion in the 70cc class again.

Even this year, Petrus played great despite the late date, it was almost t-shirt weather!
Since training and the race took place on Saturday, the training was a little shorter due to the tight schedule. There weren't any major problems for me there, and with a gap of 0,3 seconds behind Federico, I was also satisfied with second place on the grid.

At the start of the first run I held back a little because I wanted to avoid a fall in the first corners. But that is exactly what happened to my opponent in the overall standings. Frederico fell right in front of me on the first lap. Now I had to stay calm and finish ahead of Federico. I let the leader Philip Hasemann drive so that I could fully concentrate on second place. That worked really well, I was waved off second at the finish.
Since Federico crossed the finish line behind me, it was said for me even before the last run:

BMC / RH-Scooter Champion 2011
70ccm / 12inch class

I was now able to approach the 2nd race and the last run in this championship in a very relaxed manner. In the second lap I was able to overtake Federico and Philip and immediately gain a good lead over them. I defended it to the finish and became like that declined as the winner.

In the evening there was an annual award ceremony with a challenge cup and a great closing party that went well into Sunday morning.

So now it's winter break and tinkering time on the scooter!
I would like to thank the Companies Scooter Center and Sava tires for the great support in the 2011 season - THANK YOU !!!

Next year there will be an Official Championship with the title
"German Scooter Championship 2012" give.
The 6 events are again organized by the BMC together with RH-Scooter Race, who did a great job this year.

See you in 2012 / on the racetrack
