New bgm PRO Vespa brake hubs - from scooterists for scooterists

Thesis Vespa bgm PRO brake drums have been developed by Scooter Center. While working on a project for the Vespa Wideframe Alex noticed that the brake hub required some improvements.

This leads to the development of a new brake drum, Made in Germany, made of strong material and with a top braking power. At the same time, we also developed the new brake drum for the Vespa V50 with 9 and 10 inch tires. The performance of the new brake drums was successful, even in tough tests:

Made of top-quality cast iron, this brake drum offers many advantages in comparison with the conventional brake drums made of thin steel sheet:

• fits genuine and tubeless wheel rims
• no deformation caused by heating
• perfect run round thanks to the exact centering on the axis (tolerance 0.2 mm!)
• no braking growl
• improved heat dissipation thanks to the cooling fins
• more stability thanks to the increased total wall thickness
• reinforced with cooling fins
• no brake fade caused by heating (temperature max. 200-240 °)

With this brake drum even a Vespa With 8-inch tires will have an improved braking power!

Brake drum "Made in Germany" by Strohspeed for BGM PRO. Fits all Vespa V50 models with 4-hole wheel rim.

Made of top-quality cast iron, this brake drum offers many advantages in comparison with the conventional brake drums made of thin steel sheath:

• perfect run round thanks to the exact centering on the axis (tolerance 0.2 mm!)

• more stability thanks to the overall wall thickness of 11.5 mm (6.5mm of which are cooling fins)
• reinforced with cooling fins
• no brake fade caused by heating (temperature max. 200-240 ° C)

With this brake drum even a Vespa V50 will have an improved braking power!

Please note: the brake drums are coated with an anti-corrosion oil. Before mounting the brake drum please remove any trace of oil (eg with a brake cleaner, see related items). Like all cast iron brake drums, these drums corrode if not protected and if exposed to moisture. In order to protect the outer surface of the brake drum you can use a heat-resistant exhaust paint.
