Hello I'm Maryzabel and I do part of the Scooter Center team. In the SC Newsblog I will show you my adventures here and give you a look behind the scenes.

My final trainee step brought me to the technical department. So I had to put away the notebook and put on the work gloves. Additionally to the technical work, I also want to do some video footage on the work that we do.
One idea of ​​me was to restore a Vespa Smallframe so that I get back on a Vespa gain instead of using the public transport. With everyone very passionate about scooters, they instantly liked the idea. After some head scratching about the state of mine Smallframe, the technicians came up with another idea. Why not build a scooter from scratch. ALL YOU NEED for that is here and the plan was to use one of the LML frame sets and combine it with an engine with the full bgm treatment. The imagination started and everyone was hooked by the idea.
So we are now not only going to build the Vespa of my dreams, we will also do un-boxing videos, reviews and tutorials.

And for sure we will show you the build of the Vespa step by step. She wants to be a platonic love.

LED running light indicator Vespa GTS

Indicators with dynamic LED sequential light and with E-mark for Vespa

The trend comes from the automotive industry and the LED technology allowed us to develop these indicators. With its own brand “Moto Nostra” Scooter Center is the first manufacturer that produces and sells indicators with dynamic LED sequential light for Vespa scooters. What's new:

Exclusive new item by Moto Nostra

The LED light of these indicators is sequential, this means that the single LEDs don't turn on simultaneously but in sequence creating the so-called sweeeping effect.

Design and safety

- with E-mark -

The design of the Moto Nostra indicators is just superb. However, our aim was also to develop an item which guarantees the rider's safety. The LED indicators are very bright and thanks to the sequential LEDs your scooter will be much more visible in road traffic, a very important aspect for us scooterists. In addition, the front indicators feature the daytime running light, also for models before 2014.
The Moto Nostra indicators are available in the following versions:
  • colorless lenses
  • smoked lenses
The color of the indicators with smoked lenses is exactly the same of the Moto Nostra tail lights. A perfect combination if used together
The indicators feature the homologation E-mark and are therefore homologated for use on public roads. No further technical inspection necessary.

Available for all Vespa GTS models

The new indicators are available as a set of two (front or rear) and as a convenient set of four (front and rear).
For the models before 2014 the indicators include a wiring loom for a plug and play connection. Even though your Vespa GTS is a pre-facelift model, it will also feature daytime running lights, a further security feature.
The indicators of the models from 2014 and 2018/2019 are somewhat cheaper since they don't include any further wire and you can use the genuine connector.

Vespa main stand Soft Stop bgm PRO Smallfram & Largeframe Stand

The ultimate innovation

It's just a small detail, but simply brilliant. Thanks to the soft stop system the feet of the bgm PRO center stand will no longer hit hard against the footboard. Like for the PX models, the center stand stop is now placed on the stable mounting brackets on the central frame tunnel.
The center stand will stop at an ideal position and this will prevent the footboard from vibrating.
Thanks to the soft stop system, the center stand will not only be less noisy when retracting but it will also protect the footboard from the cracks which are usually caused by the genuine stand.

Easy mounting, brackets also included in the item

The soft stop center stand includes mounting brackets that are also provided with additional plates on which the stand is fitted. This prevents the direct contact between the tube of the stand and the frame of the Vespa. Unlike the genuine stand, the new bgm PRO stand will no more rub against the painted footboard.

To mount the stand you'll need longer screws which are also included in the item. Of course you can use the genuine spring and feet of your stand, alternatively you can order them in our online shop: center stand feet.

Easy and secure fastening of the former wheel

Fastening the former wheel is quite easy: you just need to push or ride your scooter into the cradle of the chock. The cradle folds forward with front wheel and clamps onto the tire holding the motorcycle upright.

If you want to bolt the chock down on the ground, the chock is provided with four holes.
Accommodates front tires from 8 up to 13 inch and 90 up to 130mm wide tires.

Footboard rack for Vespa

The screws provided with the rack are longer than the genuine ones, this allows you to fix the floor mat and the luggage rack together at the same time. Alternatively you can mount the rack without the genuine floor mat. The screws are also provided with plastic caps which make the screw heads weather-resistant.

Vespa PX models are particularly well suited to carry heavy luggage and globetrotters know it quite well! In comparison with the others Largeframe models, the PX EFL, which were put on the market in 1984, has the sturdiest and most stable chassis. The maximum license weight is 310 Kg. If we consider the unladen weight of the vehicle and the weight of the driver (80 Kg), you still have 120 Kg load you may carry on your Vespa.

Our Vespa GTS 300 demonstrator and catalog

Scooter Center left nothing untouched on the Vespa GTS demonstrator. Some changes are extremely subtle. Stand-out features include the handcrafted dropbar, the modified front mudguard and the sports seat. For our demo Vespa we chose the finest spare parts and accessories. The Brembo brake caliper kit P34 (2-piston caliper Ø 34 mm) improves braking when you ride with a pillion. The high-quality Brembo racing brake technology is now available with German TÜV certification.
The brake kit mounted on our Vespa consists of a Brembo brake caliper with 4 pistons. The anodized black aluminum adapter was developed by Scooter Center and has a TÜV certification.

If you want to appreciate the high performance of a top quality brake system you do not need to test them on a racing vehicle. On default scooters Brembo brake calipers also guarantee superb performance: high and well-modulated braking power.
Piston diameter 2 x 30 mm + 2 x 34 mm, two-piece, cast, CNC machined. High-tensile aluminum adapter, CNC machined, anodised black, TÜV certification.

ONE OFF PARTS OF THE SCOOTER CENTER VESPA DEMONSTRATOR

Drop bar / M-handlebar: the handlebar was manufactured by Scooter Center. The inclination was modified on both right and left side, the handlebar cover was made using more parts, adapted and painted.

Horn covers: Scooter Center's own item handbuild by mixing parts of the Vespa GT and Primavera horn cover.

mudguard: the design was adapted and recalls the classic design of the Vespa T5.

Fork: the length of fork was shortened by 4 cm in order to provide the GTS a sporty style.

That was an appropriate 50th anniversary party of LCD (Lambretta Club Germany): Eurolambretta 2016 in Geiselwind!

Of course we have been part of the celebrations and have presented our most current BGM developments to the Lambretta world. Nicest weather attracted many visitors and we met many interested guests at our booth and had great talks with our customers.

BGM cutaway display engine for Lambretta

We asked our friends of the Rimini Lambretta Center to build a BGM cutaway engine as a demonstrator for our high quality BGM Lambretta parts.

We supplied all the necessary parts and first of all the team Dean Orton dismounted all of them and put them in acid for cleaning. 40 hours of work later this masterpiece was accomplished. We would like to share pics and a video with you.

This is version V3.0 of ours BGM PRO Lambretta Big Box. This is a thoroughly revised version of the Lambretta exhaust, which comes with the well-known mechanical muffler version V2, but also with an overall improved insulation. Mark Broadhurst fully exploited his experience in tuning 2-stroke engines when working on the BIG BOX Clubman. With BigBox, Mark was successful in creating an exhaust, which looks almost like the original Lambretta series 3 exhaust. Mark successfully fitted the performance of an expansion chamber exhaust in the Big Box. Our Clubman is in terms of performance and revs on the same level as the legendary MRB Devtour exhaust, which, sadly, is no longer available. Adjust ignition of a Vespa using "the whale"

The whale is a tool which helps you, to precisely adjust the ignition of your Vespa. "The Whale V-Duo", a calliper, is suitable for Vespa largeframe and smallframe. A suitable tool for Lambretta is being developed.

The calliper is made of two parts and comes with measuring tips that can be freely moved and an effective measuring range of about 40 ° each. To easily define the ignition point for static and variable ignition timing.

For all who didn't know Tony O'Brien, we have attached the nice video. This shows him flying over the Nürburgring. The performance of his Charlie Edmonds tuned Falc engine is amazing.

Last week Tony tested the bgm PRO SC rear shock for the first time on Mallory Park race circuit. This is a national race circuit seeing the riders topping 150 km / h (95 mph) plus easily.

This is the feedback Tony has given bgm and us from his first races. Sadly Tony crashed during the race, but on the 24/25th of September the last race for the BSSO series will be held at Cadwell Park.

 

“The meeting didn't quite go to plan due to me deciding to test the hardness of the tarmac! (…) Practice was very wet… (…) The damper was set to 3mm pre-sag .. -5max compression and -5max rebound damping. My first impression is that this damper actually works and works very well.

The bike soaks up the bumps pretty well but I feel maybe I could have set the rebound a little harder to help stop the back end bounce on one particular corner. The engine runs a little hot with a little detonation and so I increase carburation to solve this.

By the time of the first race the track is dry. I am on last place on the grid (grid positions are based on previous meeting's results and I couldn't attend). By then end of the lap I am up to 5th from 19 starters, but there is a problem with the bike. (...)

The shock I have set to -3max on rebound and -4max compression .. its working fine and the bike feels transformed. By lap 1.5 I am into 4th behind the 250cc grp6 bikes of Topper, Turner and the 210 grp4 bike of Charely Edmonds. The corner which I had the issue on is now improved and the bike feels much safer and I actually manage to stay on the seat .. the corner is a 70mph left.

On the next lap however the motor cuts and then fires up again whilst banked over on a second gear corner .. This spits me off and into the dirt.

(...) The shock however even in two laps I feel is a massive improvement over the rs24. I feel yes for the track it could do with more damping as I think over the 10 lap race the oil will heat and it may lose damping. It would be nice to have the settings at mid-adjustment on compression and rebound. The spring does touch my tire (3.50 sava) but I can't move the shock over any more at present as the exhaust is in the way. I hope to move this over a little in the winter to solve this problem. the spring rate I would say is correct for me as it is.

During the day lots of racers were interested in the new shock. ”
